If everyone voted on policies, then Britain would've been a Liberal Democrat-controlled nation since the 1950s. Of course, the politicians are going to court swing (counties? Cities? Regions?), to which the Republicans will gladly stand on a soapbox. That's the thing about being in opposition - in any democracy - you can say what ever the hell you want and people will take your words, but when you try to say that stuff when its your turn to step up to the mic, that shit looks stupid. But as always in any democracy, the electorate are giant idiots.
