Oh, well U had my attention more than 2. But now I'm legitimately interested. It seems a lot more inspired than 2 did, that's for sure.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Game looks beautiful. It's just a shame it doesn't really sound beautiful. Still has a huge amount of rehashed music. Starry Night's potential for genuinely haunting atmosphere is ruined by that cheesy ghost theme.

It's pretty sad that they're still using NSMBW music. I was expecting a mostly new soundtrack considering they already replaced the old Bootstrapped Theme of the NSMB series.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.I'm glad they at least got rid of that death theme they've been recycling since the minigames from Super Mario 64 DS.
If anything, they should have new music for the Bowser-controlled Mushroom Kingdom, since it probably wouldn't have any lava pits to fit NSMBW's volcanic overworld theme.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.@Fawful Crump:
"Still has a huge amount of rehashed music."
One track is not more than six. Stop pretending every damn track is "rehashed" when you only have ONE example.
Actually, we have more examples than just one. The Ghost House music, the Forest Overworld, the Koopaling Battle 2 Music, and the Beach Overworld all come from NSMBW. So far, the only original song we have is the new Grass Overworld theme.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Don't forget the "results screen" theme they've been using since NSMBDS.
Then again, it could be placeholder music. Then again, that's what I thought about NSMB 2's soundtrack when gameplay of it was shown.

Eh.... Dude, seriously? What's your problem? We had gameplay videos that used music from the previous games.
I doubt it's placeholder music. The game's a launch title, and if it was placeholder music, we wouldn't be hearing it by now.

You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!I wonder why they even decided to change the overworld theme of all songs. It's like the most iconic theme of the NSMB series, yet they changed no songs besides that one.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Really, the game keeps looking better and better and the only thing you people do is bitch about the music? Tv Tropes, I am disappoint.
Anyway, so the purple enemy thingie wasn't a Ninji redesing after all, but rather the star of an entirely new game mode. Sounds interesting.

"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."From what I understand, that enemy appears at random in levels (and you probably get a message or something when it appears and where on the World Map), and if you hunt it down, you get the P-Acorn (which allows for infinite flight).
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!Well, not a new game mode, but close enough .

"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."Nabbit's events are sort of like those Toad escort missions from NSMB Wii, from what I'm seeing and hearing. Except with more challenge.
Speaking of Ninjis, they're back as enemies in◊ Paper Mario Sticker Star, retaining their original designs.

Eh.Yeah, that's what I thought too.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."Nabbit events sound much more fun than those unnecessarily frustrating Toad missions. It also sound like they also won't be as grindable as the Toad missions, since if you just played world 1 or 2, you could grind for items.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.-_- Seriously dude? We've been complimenting the game. We're also still allowed to have a few problems with it. Nothing is perfect. And I'm sure the music complaint is valid considering that the soundtrack has been reused TWICE already. And judging from the previews, a 3rd time too. And from what I've heard, the final boss music in NSMB 2 was rehased from Wii, (which is really lazy in that regard) so wanting a new soundtrack (I don't even like the NSMB soundtrack anyway) isn't unreasonable.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Thank you. That really needed to be said.
Anyway, I do plan on getting it(New Super Mario Bros 2) soon enough. I think I should be able to work with the Control Nub instead of the D-Pad. Considering you move more than just 4 directions as is, it should work pretty well.
I'll eventually get the Wii U. It looks like they're really working on cool changes for NSMB Wii U. I doubt one of those is a "can choose a 5th character", but they already look like awesome implementations.
Quest 64 threadHow long will it be 'til they get to developing the WU's 3D Mario game?
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Magcargo PM'd it to me.

"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."Hmm, that map appears to be more patchworked and haphazardly put together than a SMW style map.
And why'd he PM it to you anyway?
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Because he's mah buddy, that's why :3.
In all seriousness, we were having a PM conversation and we brought up NSMBU, so he PM'd that to me.

"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."Oh wow, the dude's actually banned. That explains why I haven't seen him posting recently.
Don'r know why people are saying the world map is like SMW. Still looks pretty linear as previous NSMB maps, only instead of map transitions, they're all patchworked together.

You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!He hasn't been banned, just suspended ¬¬.
And I actually like the patchwork feel that map has. I dunno why, I just do.
