So, we have a thread for Starcraft 2, but not a thread for Starcraft 1. Why is this.

Never played it myself, but I remember watching my brothers play it as Terran and it seemed pretty interesting back then.

I got it from Kmart for $20. It's pretty fun.

[up][up] TvT is really close to a conventional RTS.

I played it as a kid.

I never liked it as much as I liked Warcraft II and III, and I still think the plot for the Starcraft series is really uninteresting, but still, it's a great game.

You know you could just download it for free and Blizzard doesn't even care anymore.

I like it much better than SC 2 but SC 2 is easier so I play that instead. SC 1 has the better proscene too.

I always thought that getting most units to move around was really awkward in Starcraft. Especially Dragoons. They were nearly useless due to their immense size and movement issues.

Anyone else remember that Terran mission where you had to sneak a bomb or something into a Zerg base? I remember playing it normally, and building up my base for awhile, only to facepalm at the last minute when I realized I could just have Kerrigan go into ghost mode and carry the bomb to its destination.

[up]What? All I can think of is that one where you sneak the psi emitter into a Terran base to attract Zerg, and you could only use a SCV to carry it.

Yeah, I can only remember the psi emitter thing too. That was still easy enough though; SCV rush with the one carrying the emitter being shielded by a science vessel's... shield... thing. Yeah.

goliaths were much stupider than dragoons.

And Mutalisks... they had a range of 3 or so but a unit that passed by at a range of 6 would aggro them... you had to watch them carefully to make sure they didn't run away on you.

I don't think either of them were as stupid. Mutas were one of the best units to control and I doubt anyone would call them stupid. Goliath as a close number 2 to the dragoon though.

Anyone else SCV rush the enemy base before they've got any troops ready?

Anyone got any neat-o maps or anything? I remember making this one map where the map was just two spawn points surrounded by resources and a long bridge. The rest was a bottomless pit.

Sounds terrible.

Sorry, just from a competitive mapper's point of view, I have a habit of mercilessly cracking down on the minutest flaws of any 1on1 map.

And I was joking about the SC Vs but yeah.

I actually found a map where a zerg beacon had some land ability, which is weird beacuse I thought that adding abilities required an external mod.

Don't worry, my first map was worse.
