I realized this while looking through the gallery of a Deviant Art group centered around something I was somewhat interested in.

Ah, why do the valleys have to be so low, and the peaks so high (thus giving me actual hope)? Mediocrity I can take, but when I see some of said valleys... Bleh!

ETA: It's especially bad when it's fanart depicting actual, real people I've seen in photos or TV or film. Some of it... GAH!!!

How do you all deal with it? Just accept it as a fact of life? :)

^ Pretty much that, yeah.

Yeah, I figured. I think it was just the shock talking; it was the first time I'd really dug into Deviant Art and found stuff that was based on real life figures. I mean, the badly drawn original art and badly drawn versions of animated figures were bad enough. It was when it got to the real people that it really turned my guts inside out. :P

I don't really feel that much aside from being displeased from looking at something ugly, which applies to things that aren't art anyway.

Now then there's those people who make crazy good things which make me feel incompetent and make me remember just how much i'm never satisfied with what I can do.

If people learned from their mistakes, there wouldn't be this thing called bad habits.
