I have a message from another time...Disney is Kingdom Hearts.
Anyone who says this is quite silly.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderWhat? I've heard that said about FF characters(which makes a tinsy bit of sense) but...Disney? Without Disney the series wouldn't exist. And if they just removed them then there'd be nothing to distinguish KH from a Final Fantasy subseries.
Really, who says that?

Pretty much that. One of the main features of the series is that it uses Disney worlds for it's levels, in most cases anyways.

Considering how bloated and convoluted the original stuff has become, I think the Disney stuff is the best thing left in the series.
Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!Pretty much this. When I first played KH I was expecting a full-on Disney RPG. What I instead got was a typical Square game with a bunch of Disney characters arbitrarily tacked on, and written by somebody who to all appearances didn't know the first thing about said characters and made absolutely no attempt to hide this.
That, coupled with that the game was boring as shit, crushed all interest I had in the series henceforth.
visit my blog!I've only heard that KH focuses too much on original characters. Personally, I don't care much either way.
But nobody can convince me that the Final Final characters were more than an after-thought.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.Moe Dantes, get out of my brain!
By which I mean that I agree with them completely. Except I bought the second game.

This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet. The only problem I have with Disney in Kingdom Hearts is the fact that the levels are often rehashes of the original movies. The worst being the horrible DS game were "memory loss" led to rehashing the rehashes. And again, Disney IS Kingdom Hearts with a couple of Final Fantasy characters tossed in.
Yeah, the Disney stuff is like half of the appeal. The other half is FF as an action RPG. I personally wouldn't change it much besides making the worlds more like extensions of their movie incarnations. Let them grow too.
Disney is Kingdom Hearts, plus some FF characters,
And is awesome
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/Kingdom Hearts is nothing without Disney.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Honestly, I'd prefer Kingdom Hearts without the Final Fantasy characters. Disney characters are the more memorable ones with the colorful worlds and characters.
The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty. The Disney elements are the whole appeal of Kingdom Hearts. Though, one thing I wish they would stop doing is reusing old worlds so much, particularly in the handheld games.
Do not fear power... fear those who wield it.The Disney characters, music, and worlds were one of the only things I liked about the games. Most of my complaints have been voiced by Edmond and others in this very thread.
And a complaint that they didn't voice...Most of the characters I like from Final Fantasy games haven't made appearances. Hell some of the games I like haven't even had anyone show up from their series. Like 5. Then again most of the ones I like are spinoffs like Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Most if not all of the FF characters that have popped in so far come from entries in the series I dislike too...I can think of one from one I like. Setzer. At least as of 2 anyway. I abandoned it after that due to these issues I have.

If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahSeconding the issue with the FF cameos. More variety would be nice. I'd love to see Shantotto or Prishe show up in the next one.
Do not fear power... fear those who wield it.I would have preferred a bigger focus on Disney and less of a focus on Final Fantasy (ideally, none whatsoever). This series made me realize how utterly generic FF characters really are.

ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Yeah, and Nomura doesn't have the "it doesn't feel right to use characters I didn't design" excuse any more, considering his work with Dissidia. If another character from VII makes it in over GILGAMESH, I will personally travel to Japan, find Nomura, and deliver a Goblin Punch to his face (and yes, I checked, my level and his are equal).
So, I take it I'm the only one here who likes both aspects of the franchise?
No, I like both all three types of characters. Some pre-FF 7 characters would be good though.

You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person. Then expect pictures of my fist hitting Nomura's face to go up that next day.
Oh, and I actually like both aspects of the series. They just need to be better integrated into the story. The Disney worlds were just... there in II.

Honestly, I play Kingdom Hearts for the original story and gameplay. The Disney characters rather detract from the experience for me, nostalgia and all. This may sound stupid, but I'd prefer more FF than Disney, or even better, almost all OC with only cameos from both FF and Disney.
Likes many underrated webcomics
What are your opinions on Disney characters being in Kingdom Hears? I've heard some people say that Disney characters should not be in the game and that the game should make up its own original characters.
