Metal Gear/ Metal Gear Solid

Must be remembering things wrong, odd. And yeah, I know about the fact that spin-offs can still be a part of the canon, I assumed Revengeance was until I read that thing.

Rising is canon. It just isn't a Metal Gear Solid game. Still a canon part of the overall Metal Gear franchise. Platinum is handling the gameplay, Koji Pro is doing the story.

...I mean, the MSX 2 games weren't Metal Gear Solid games, and those are still canon. More or less.

All I ask is for Raiden to have lightning powers.

Has anyone else heard about another Metal Gear game coming out at some unspecified point in the future? Apparently Hideo Kojima wants to make a game about the Cobra Unit in World War Two.

I would kill for a game with The Boss as the main character. A World War II game starring the Cobra unit would be amazing.

How have so many people not heard about Ground Zeroes?

I've heard about Ground Zeroes. It isn't about The Boss. So fuck it.

I kid, I kid, it actually does look really awesome. But is a game about The Boss too much to ask for?

So yeah, Ground Zeroes may end up being the best Metal Gear game ever until they make one about The Boss.

There was some chatter about Ground Zeroes quite a few pages back, when it first was revealed.

I'm kind of surprised people aren't talking more about it myself.

Probably because there isn't very much to go by from the trailer so far, other than the fact that the grahpics ROCK for a current gen game and that the gameplay is supposed to take place in an open-world environment that you can explore.

This is the first time Metal Gear has been as wet as me.

I hope they come up with something good for the story in Ground Zeroes, since all of the story so far has been pretty well filled in by 3, 4 and Peace Walker. Crazy boss fights and a surplus of fourth-wall breaking moments are pretty much compulsory.

Does anyone know of a good Youtube version of MGS 4? I'd prefer one without anyone talking, maybe just a collection of the cutscenes from start to finish?

Would this be suitable?

BTW, regarding Volgin's torture session fo BB in MGS 3... I don't think anyone had told you that there's a way to avoid taking any damage from that session, did they?

Hey, I wouldn't mind seeing that base-building feature! Not too sure about the moblie phone app though, those things are usually just last-minute junk-add ins...

Am I the only one who's saddened by the fact Rule 34 for MGS is almost entirely yaoi?

Ocelot was confirmed in canon to be Big Boss-sexual. It was the driving force for his entire plan. If you are looking up Rule 34 for anything that involves a female, you are looking at the wrong series.

What about The Boss, EVA or Meryl? Or how about Jennifer, Diana, Ellen and Holly?

I'm not saying that there isn't female based Rule 34 doesn't exist somewhere, but I think you fail to understand just how rampant yaoi fangirlism can get, especially in a male dominant cast where the creator is actively upping the Godless amount of subtext in each game. That said, this series aint got shit on Kingdom Hearts when it comes to yaoi.

Yes but the difference is that I like KH Yaoi. I'm new to KH but between Roxas and a few others, it has some very cute boys.

MGS only has Raiden and even then his prettyboy days are mostly over.

I think the hot MGS females outweigh the attractive MGS males.

Finished watching a LP of MGS 4 and I have to say mixed feelings. On the one hand, it connected all the loose ends pretty well and did a brilliant job of tying in the "war is hell" theme that was so strong in the other games. Old Snake was a really interesting character to see. On the other hand, I felt like the nanomachines card was stretched a wee bit too far, and I'm not a huge fan of Johnny becoming a serious character. All in all, pretty good. Strongest points were Raiden's arc, Otacon's, Solid Snake's decline,and I found the Beauty and the Beast Corps to be very interesting.

In terms of how the games fall, I'd say MGS 4-MGS 2-MGS 1-MGS 3, with MGS 1 and MGS 3 being very close. They're all spectacular games, however.

Any thoughts? I was disappointed I didn't get to play through this, but sadly I do not own a PS 3. DAMN YOU SONY.

Johnny....possibly my favorite character in MGS 4 lol.
