Oh? I didn't realize they closed it.
I wish that site as more like My Anime List.
Genkidama for Japan, even if you don't have money, you can help![1]They redesigned it! Which is good. Not that the old design was bad. But this new one is even better.
Bleye knows Sabers.I asked about that. Staff member Lyndis (there are three other than main guy Drumble; they are Try4ce, Xavean, and Lyndis) told me that that's not part of the site update but he/she plans to add MAL-like features—such as connecting people based on commonalities between their gaming repertoires, and letting you find people who've played a given game—"down the road".

those sort of features are what would make backloggery be even more useful. It's pretty nifty on its own, but more social stuff would definitely be a plus.
Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft insteadMe, I still hate the fact that I can't close off my profile to public viewing on this kind of website. (Last.fm, Backloggery, etc.) "Socializing" be fucking damned, all I want is an easily maintained list of games sorted by 100%/beaten/barely touched.
Should discovering random people who don't even live on the same continent as you even be called 'socializing'? That's so stupid.
Yes, despite all this I do have a link to my Last.fm in my sig. I have no idea what I'm trying to achieve by doing this.

Woah, they're planning on making it like MAL? I haven't been there in forever because I realized it made me feel stressed to play certain games in all of the wrong ways. I also felt like I said some stupid things I didn't want to take the consequences for.
But if they've changed it up and made it better, and made it more like MAL. Hey, I think I might out to try and come back for a little while. It sounds a little daunting to update my list after several months of absence today. ... but maybe I ought to. If it's cute an easy to use, maybe that'll make updating loads of easy unstressful fun.
Genkidama for Japan, even if you don't have money, you can help![1]More privacy settings for Backloggery are coming.
- Finishing up the bug fixes
- Adding the browsing options discussed above (hopefully I can squeeze this in before registration opens)
- Opening registration
- More privacy settings
- Mini-reviews/comments
- Everything else
Considering how the registeration is soon to be opened, the privacy issues are pretty close to being the very next thing that's gonna change.

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing. Finally! I'm waiting since December.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.In any case, communication is communication. Isn't part of the point of forums Community? These new sites are just a different model for that. One that gives people more avenues of communication than just the basic posting in forum threads and having a PM box.
Genkidama for Japan, even if you don't have money, you can help![1]I don't like the redesign. It doesn't properly scale horizontally anymore, which means that it's only using about a third of my monitor space.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I'm considering joining it when it's up again. Maybe it will motivate me to finish some of those long-overdue games.
Funnily enough, I learned of the Backloggery through a list on Cracked.com. Go fig. I've been waiting since April for them to fix the site.
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyAnyone know how to dig up a private message that you've sent to someone before, on backloggery?
I'm trying to find exactly how I phrased my question to Lyndis, to give a more accurate picture of expectations.
And now I feel bad about announcing this, since the server is already struggling with the new registrations.
And the server is already struggling under the flood.
I’d consider it a personal favor if you just create a new account now and wait to start adding games until things have calmed down. XD

I can't even access the site. Or at least very slowly. :<
I shouldn't be surprised, I'm hardly the only one who waits that registration is possible again, but still...
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.This doesn't look good. I think it'll get closed off again.
The situation seems to have stabilized without the need of closing registration off. At least, I can access normally and just created my account.

People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.It would be nice if you could edit your status on games without having to drill all the way down to the game itself... like, just have a big grid to edit, instead of having to go into each game's individual page.
But maybe you can do that? Maybe it's just me, but I find this thing really confusing. Where's my friends list? :/
Except [condescending response follows]. Because [sarcasm here]. You do understand [snark], right? POTHOLE TO SARCASM MODEYour friends list is called a "multitap".
^^ The only games I assume you'd need to update are the ones you're currently playing, so you can mark those as "Now Playing" and they'll appear on your front page. I'm pretty sure you have that figured out though.
If you're talking about updating each and every game in your library, the only faster way to do it that I can think of would be searching by letter so you wouldn't have to scroll as much.

I just registered today! Squee!
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting Agency
For those of you who are not familiar with the site: http://backloggery.com/
It's a place to keep track of games you've played, and how much of them you've finished or left unfinished. You can use it like me to keep track of what games you've played, as a public record, or you can use it to keep track of what you have yet to finish, or whatever.
Registration was closed down a while back due allegedly to server overload, while the site's main admin had some medical issues. They've been cleared up, and he's overhauled the site, complete with a graphics update and many other changes.
Here's his blog about his work on the site: http://backloggery.tumblr.com/
