Bump. Do we need a SE thread for finding fitting subtropes, or will we discuss them in this thread?
I think this might be better for Special Efforts. It isn't getting enough love here and there's a lot of work to be done.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI think we should move this whole thread to SE instead of opening a new one. I will send a holler.
Moved. Can we lock the crowner?
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffLocked the crowner. Now we just need to figure out what the subtropes are, but there's a lot of examples and they're not all listed that well. Sandbox. The Cover Changes The Meaning. We can copy the example list there and start sorting.

Determine the subtropes, right?
What's precedent ever done for us?Yes.

What would be the best way to fix the page?
Well, hopefully this split we can clear out a lot of that accumulated snark. I don't object to putting things on existing trope pages that fit, but Darker and Edgier wouldn't really be the right place to start. I can't think of any music examples that would really fit in there without causing a fair bit of decay to that trope. At least not for covers.
That said, maybe we should sandbox each of our proposed moods and start splitting examples to those working down the list rather trying to just do this all in one burst.
