From what I sawed, no mather how dark and badass they are , they allways geting defeated in Dr Doofershitch style. I meant really, Grogar defeated by ancient artifact what he got under his nose and never tried to destroy/take into place no one get it, or at least guard it? Ok last option could not help when his entire army rebeled and join heroes.

And I also whant to ask if any one show any resistance during invasion? Only thing what they do was to run or geting captured by Grogar minion.

Well, I've been writing a fanfic set in the Fi M setting, featuring Grogar in a non-villainous way; it also has a completely rewritten Lily Lightly and Mimic as the protagonists. Does it sound good?

I don't know. Maybe?

But why: Grogar in a non-villainous way?

He won't be the villain, but he's certainly not benevolent as he seems at first, might be considered a case of Evil Versus Evil.

So you make him more Grayed or not?

He sound like less Darkseid and more like Admiral Trawn.

Found a G1-based MLP tabletop game, though it seems to be for personal use.

He basically wants to get rid of a "nuisance" to his Equestria-conquering plans, and for that he uses Lily Lightly and Mimic, purely for his own amusement. But of course the pony duo doesn't know that, so he appears to be a benevolent ally to them, at first. Okay, maybe that's a little villainous.

Isn't it to diffrent from his original character?

^^^ Then there this April Fool's joke. I've heard when it was reveled that it was a joke, there was angry fans because they wanted it to be real.

Imaginate this in April 2011.

Well also hole MLP stuff but not other cartoons.

And the idea is that we can talk about any Pony versions that aren't Friendship. Just we mostly discuss G1 because frankly, who cares about that Runaway Rainbow crap.

Or the fact that ponies from G3 could barely be considered ponies.

I actually liked the Runaway Rainbow story in itself, it's my favorite of the three main G3 movies I've seen. But that may be simply because I love rainbows (which should be obvious given my username).

On the topic of G1, the story "Crunch, the Rockdog" has some gender confusion in the beginning, when Paradise is telling her story. In the beginning, it talks about "Valentine's friend" running off into the sunset, where Valentine is referred to as a girl, even though she has hooves like a male pony. Then when the ponies are discussing the story, one of them mentions that Valentine lost HIS true love! So are these lesbian ponies, girls who are just friends (the pony who left was referred to as a friend initially), or a heterosexual couple? I'm a little surprised Windwhistler was questioning the journey being at sunset (which one could think of logical reasons for, such as stealth) and didn't notice the gender confusion there! Since the gender was changed after the story ended, perhaps this was a writing error where what was initially a parting of friends was rewritten as a parting of lovers but the writers forgot to change the genders in the actual telling of the story?

Yeah, the hour-length Generation 3 features deserve some credit, from what clips I've browsed on You Tube so far. At least they tried to get back to more of a magical fantasy world, and some of the songs are good. They do appear to have been afraid to introduce serious danger or conflict, though, so you have to be ready to put up with the Sugar Bowl the whole way through. And don't be fooled by the recycled names; it might help if you imagine that Rarity and Rainbow Dash swapped personalities between generations, for one thing.

I did get some unintended laughs out of that preview video Will Keaton posted, particularly A Very Minty Christmas. I like how the narrator keeps saying "Minty, being Minty," as if we're already supposed to be familiar with what Minty's like before watching the movie. It sounds like a nice way of saying "Because Minty's a total @#$%-up..." But I don't think I can put up with the narrator's attempts to turn "Christmassy" and "princessy" into real adjectives.

And here's some evidence that Equestria must be going through an "Idiocracy" period in these videos: A candy cane as a tree-topper? WHY? Can't you tell from the shape that candy canes are supposed to hang from things, not stand on end? "Yes, a precariously perched giant candy cane is the only thing that can summon Santa Claus, but darned if we're gonna make a backup!"

At that point, I don't think we're as curious to see whether Minty will save Christmas as we are to see whether Santa Claus has become a pony in this series, or if it will acknowledge the presence of humans, magical or otherwise. (Okay, I skipped to the last ten minutes of the movie, and it turns out they don't ever get to meet Santa Claus; he just leaves them some sticky notes. But come to think of it, there was a toy Santa at the very beginning that looked pretty much like Santa as we know him, so, yeah.)

Say, do you suppose the ponies have to rehearse group exclamations like "PONYVILLE DOESN'T HAVE A PRINCESS!" or "IT'S A 'HERE COMES CHRISTMAS' CANDY CANE!"? And do you suppose the outcome of Princess Promenade is given away by another movie in which there already is a princess? Anyway, I do love the way Minty delivers the line "WHAT AM I GONNA DO??", and how the last two previews end with the same bit of sloppy animation where the ears pop out of nowhere at 2:49 and 4:55, just to show how much they [[ptitleueswu2fx0swd care]].

After rewatching Return of Tambleron (still just OK) I wish Grogar minions sing "Where there's a whip, there's a way!"

Maybe I'm going on a tangent here, but what about all the other series that filled the second part of the G1 shows? I mean, I don't know if it was that way in the US version too, but the series we got here had several different secondary cartoons filling the second half of every show, rotating around with the main and first half always being Pony.

I don't remember anything in concrete but a cartoon about a town of fireflies, though. Oh, and the Potato Head Kids cartoon (which had quite an Ear Worm theme song). It's been more than a decade...
