I admit, I never got why folks hated Necrid. I mean, yeah, he wasn't the most balanced and his moveset was also kinda wonky, but I thought he was a cool idea and liked his design.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.My younger brother loves Necrid.
I'm the same with Ashlotte. Sure she's a copy of Astaroth, but she's cooler and more badass than he is. I wish they kept her.
"Marth likes just the tip, Lucina likes the whole thing."Because Todd Mc Farlane. Apparently his condition for doing artwork for and releasing the figures for Soul Calibur 2, was for him to get to design his own character. And put Spawn in the Xbox version.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatI heard that Spawn was actually a later arrangement. I think they wanted someone else for the Xbox version. couldn't get the rights for whoever that was, then asked MacFarlene if they could use Spawn instead since they were already in talks with him anyway.
Also, I saw an ad for the SCII figures at the back of the manual, but did anyone actually have those? Were they any good?

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.I wished they had a Talim figure.
"Marth likes just the tip, Lucina likes the whole thing."I just though Nercid wasn't an original character since he was pretty much like Ogre from Tekken
I played the Soul Series from the Beginning though.
youtube.com/Fire Trainer 92Anyone get the feeling Sophitia showing up in all three console versions of SCII is a result of Executive Meddling?
...No? Why would it be? She was a major character, and it had like all the major characters.
Maybe not Hwang, Rock, Li Long and Lizardman, buuuut...

The sad, REAL American dichotomyThe only console exclusive characters are the guests. The home versions shared every other character and there was no indication that it was ever planned otherwise (for one, that'd make no sense)

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.I'm not even sure how that makes sense. That's like saying it's Executive Meddling that Scorpion isn't exclusive to Playstation in Mortal Kombat 9 and Sub-Zero to Xbox. That would be insane.

I just realized that Zwei isn't the first fighting game character with memory issues to be named after a German number.
He is, however, much, much lamer.
I really hope they make a sixth game. This series is too awesome to end with five and that shit legendary swords crap.
So many characters got shafted just for lame kid versions of themselves. With the exception of Pyrrha and maybe Elysium I don't think a single new character in five is liked.
"Marth likes just the tip, Lucina likes the whole thing."*tries to think of a single exception to the above statement*
*gives up*
Viola doesn't count, being Amy and all, and her moveset's stupid anyhow. Her Crit Edge is useless.
EDIT: I don't think I dislike Pyrrha as a character, or at least I don't outright hate her, but she should be a noncombatant. No way in hell should she be fighting with anything. Playability aside, she does not ever sell any ability to swing a sword, even in self-defense; she's too distressed.
EDIT 2: Elysium is neither here nor there, although her Crit Edge is way honkin' OP.

i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyViola's the only one I like.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI like Pyrrha and all but yeah, her pacifist mannerisms feel forced. Viola was cool too
I didn't have an issue with the time jump and all, but a lot of potential was wasted. I'd love to see another game expand on V, although have the classics return as non-story characters.
I liked Pyrrha, though yeah, her being able to fight seems like a handwave because, hey, it's a fighting game.
I do like Pyrrha Omega, and I am sad that V did away with her as quickly as it finally got around to her. They've been building up to her since II, so I expected her to stick around for a few games. Like, in a hypothetical VI, Pyrrha Omega would replace Pyrrha as the "default" Pyrrha. If that makes sense.
The rest, eh. Viola and ZWEI at least caught my interest, but I think they suffer from a lack of real development. The rest are...yeah, eh.
Pat smells.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.I can't believe I had the balls to buy it on LAUNCH DAY.
I even used it as a source in one of my English finals!
"Marth likes just the tip, Lucina likes the whole thing."I DUNNO!
"Marth likes just the tip, Lucina likes the whole thing."...The fuck are you going to use a fighting game for in an English paper? :/
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyThe paper was about the effects of video game violence on children, okay? Give me a break.
"Marth likes just the tip, Lucina likes the whole thing."Of V's newcomers, Leixia and Pyrrha seem to be the only ones that don't get unanimous hatred from the fandom, and even then they still get a ton of flak.
You never know. English classes can dredge up exceptionally strange writing prompts.
I'll honestly be surprised if a true SCVI comes to be, since Soul seems to be Namco's red-headed stepchild these days. I would hope for a reboot that revives the franchise in a similar fashion to Mortal Kombat, but... SCV was apparently supposed to be that reboot. :/

What is a fandom? A miserable little pile of flame wars! 3DS FC: 0387-9377-7408 PSN ID: Raven King SageLiked Leixia and Natsu too; guess you can tell what kind of characters I find appeal in, heh. Hard to be likable when you're shoehorned in the place of fan favorites. Having no real development certainly didn't help any.
Of the whole series, I think Talim and the Alexandra sisters are my personal favorites.

"Marth likes just the tip, Lucina likes the whole thing."
Don't ever feel bad about liking a hated character or being interested in their story.
I hate shit like that. If I like Yoda and play as him in 4, don't start giving me crap about how he's the worst character in the game. Shut the fuck up and let me play. Likewise, if you like Necrid and want to know more about him, that's fine, too. I am also interested in knowing how Talim purified him.
(She's one of my favorite characters in the series.)
