In regards to a theoretical (using that adjective because of everything brought up in the announcement) sixth game, I'd rather have it be the 3/4 of V that never came out due to V being rushed.

Something odd, but Soulcalibur's twitter changed their name from "Hoshino_calibur" to just "soulcalibur". What do you guys think are the implications here?

I introduced some friends to this series via SC II's team battle. Voldo and Astaroth were popular. I decided to play a little on my own, and I came to the obvious plot thread in Xianghua's profile that her mother told her her father was dead, which means he obviously isn't. Apparently they reunited down the line. He is also the one who trained Mi-Na and Xiba. So I guess at some point Xianghua and Kilik found out that Xianghua and Xianglian were related?

I feel like we're nearing an announcement. Either at Gamescom or TGS, they're possibly leading up to something with this viral marketing thing to get people hyped up. Keep your fingers crossed!

I'm almost positive we're getting an announcement soon. The Soul Calibur Facebook page just changed their profile pic and wallpaper to say "20th Anniversary Soul Calibur"

So we should be looking for that Bus they'll use to smash Soul Calibur V characters into paste soon then?

I would not mind if Leixia was in the next game if the story included more of her in the plot. Having her replace Xianghua without doing much to establish her as a character was a terrible idea the better solution then throwing her under a bus would be to just have them both with similar, but still different fighting styles.

Pyrrha can come back also maybe have the two go on adventures since Pyrrha could use some friends and adventure seeker would be a good fit.

I'd rather leave things the way they are with continuity, given that the damage is already done. I mean, V only got 1/4 of the it's story content being complete, so I'd rather have the hypothetical VI be the Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain to V's Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes in regards to plot delivery (one game being incomplete in terms of plot and its sequel taking care of the rest).

Nah, too late. Doing that would deflect sales and scare fans away, who already hated V for what it was. Lets not forget that the man who direction V is no longer on the team, and Hoshino has shown to be taking the series in a different direction than what previous director Daishi had intended.

Just keep Patroklos and Pyrrha out of the plot and that, if you have anyone who aren't the Alexander/ra siblings who were in V to appear for a hypothetical VI, just say that they're plots were Broad Strokes.

So we can't retcon then out of existence?

I remember when the plot of this game was simple enough we almost got an adaptation starring Jackie Chan with Sammo Hung directing. Then 4 and 5 happened.

The Alexander siblings were, without exaggeration, the entire plot of V.

And the plot was just as bad as them.

At the most I think Patrocles(sp) is gonna be buried under a pile of buses that will all explode. There's little hope for him except maybe dying while doing something good (though most would say him dying is something good).

Not too sure about Pyrrha, but they hammered the helpless little girl aspect of her character so hard, she might have turned away as many people as they thought she would bring in (though she was certainly different from her mother or aunt, I'll say that much).

Not much to say about the others but I know Pat is pretty much doomed. They were actually bashing him on a official website. There's no hope when the creators of a character give up on you.

Pat's not getting in. Hell, Lars was redeemed a bit in Tekken Tag 2 by virtue of his ending where his own dreams bully the poor guy into submission. And I hate the guy because of how much of "bad fanfic" he reeks of. Pat's not getting that

I also think they went WAY too far with "Bad shit happens to Pyrrha" story thing. Literally everyone she gets close to (except Patroklos, how about that) dies and she gets accused of the last guy's death and all that. It stops being sad and starts being hilarious. Its like Black Comedy done wrong. Were they banking on the creepo fanbase that faps to weepy infantilized moe princesses of the "PRECIOUS CINNAMON ROLL MUST PROTECT UWU" crowd?
