Didn't we have this discussion before or something? I'm going to go check the history.
Fight smart, not fair.I can see the angle the pic is going for, but it's not what I think of when I hear the phrase.
Yeah, it was also taken to TRS for renaming once on the grounds of a bad Trope Namer. Don't recall what the outcome was though.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I think the image conveys the trope reasonably well, but I wonder if we could do better. I don't like this picture very much, because the speech bubbles get in the way.
I reject your requirement for a witty statement or fanboyish squealing in my signature.Three day clock set.
I don't see any fear in that picture, just anger; and the caption doesn't help either.
I'd say that the second panel from this Wapsi Square strip would work better.
There's also numerous Star Wars parodies we could stick on here, but I don't think the trope namer actually demonstrates the trope anyway.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! Here's the suggested panel; I'd be alright with it. Clock extended for further discussion.
The clock's up; anyone object to the last pic? Speak soon or don't bitch when I put it up.
I'm okay with it. It's not the best pic I've seen in all the time I've spent on this subforum, but it's valid for the page.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyHearing no objections, the pic's up, potholed, and tagged; locking up.
I'm not sure if the page image is appropriate. I mean, it kind of conveys the trope, but its not really noticeable (for me at least) how it's associated with Fear Leads To Anger until you read the description itself. It's clearly one character being angry at another character, but its hard to tell that they're concerned, upset or really anything. It's just someone being angry at someone else and slapping them, and the concerned calling them "dummy" is really the only clue as to what's going on, and that as a term of Tsundere-esque endearment isn't exactly common knowledge. The caption is uninspired and completely unnecessary, too. "Just like that"? The caption should at least add something to the image, or be entertaining. This one does completely nothing.
The concept is simple and crops up really often in fiction: One character being angry at another character, but also showing some kind of concern for them. Can't we find something a little bit clearer? Even just a "Stupid Alice! It's not like I was worried or anything." would be fine.
