A World of Heroes

It took Doppler a short while to notice the employee door. Instantly the assault plan in his mind changed its nature. No more ladders, for one thing.

Before approaching, he scanned the alleyway for any security cameras—though he was invisible, any SWAT assault team would not be. Once at the door, he began an intensive active scan of the door itself, and anyone beyond it. Additionally, he directed his scan at the doorframe as well. Burglar alarm wires typically ran along the frame, and those were detectable.

The alleyway had only one camera. It was on the left wall. It semed to be in a fixed position. Practically on Doppler's.

Beyond the door, the room was empty. It was an small room, though. Clearly meant for employees to move the money from the vault easily. It only had another door that led to the lobby where the Jackal and his crooks were waiting for thee negotiator.

Jackal: the stupid police is taking too damn much to listen to our demands or send a negotiator. Something tells me that they don't want to negotiate.

OK, then, we can play this game.

Jackal points at two random mooks

You two! Move to the second floor and rig the stairs to the third floor with explosives. Take a hostage each in case there are snipers.

the thugs obeyed the Jackal orders and moved to the second floor

Doppler had a grim smile on his face as he raised the radio to his lips and reported the turn of events. "Would it be possible to arrange for that camera to be looped or otherwise spoofed? And what's the status on the burglar alarms?"

Captain Ford: Hmmm...is that...? Hey, mister!

Captain Ford approached Incubus

Are you the negotiator sent by central?

Incubus turned around to see the officer.

"That'd be me." He did his best to repress his grin, "Any particular instructions?"

Captain Ford moved his hand forward

I'm Captain Ford, I don't think we have met yet. Do you know the current situation, sir?

Incubus politely shook the Captain's hand.

"Some nutjob's got a bank full of hostages and is armed, dangerous and carrying explosives." Incubus stated, "Yeah I got it. So, do you want me to talk the guy out or play bait?"

Ford: We think that bait is the best plan. This guy is clearly dangerous. and our time is running...we need to please him a little bit while my crew infiltrates the place.

"Fine then," Incubus smiled with a shrug, "I won't antagonize him."

Ford: Just to be safe, we need to talk to Doppler in order to know what's his plan...

Ford heard Doppler's voice coming from his radio

Would it be possible to arrange for that camera to be looped or otherwise spoofed? And what's the status on the burglar alarms?"

We can definetely do something about the camera. about the alarms, they are routed to call 911 in case of them being tripped, we can talk to them at central and warn them to ignore any alarms coming from the bank.

Revolver made his way into the staircase joining the third and second floor without difficulty. Pausing for a moment to arm himself with balls of yarn from his bag, he slowly crept down the stairs, yarn coiling around his arms like serpentine pets.

"Excellent, sir. It looks like the room is clear. We can probably get a SWAT team to assault through here, sir, and then flash and clear the lobby from there, assuming the terrs haven't dispersed too far—hold on."

If the radio signals had been rigged to each of the bombs as a dead man's switch, and the bombs were moved, then so did the radio signals...

"Oh hell. I think they're moving some of the bombs to the second floor, Captain. The transmissions are moving."

Fogata noticed the two people, including the one she had been trying to cripple with cold, moving to the rear of the building and out of the range of her powers. While she supposed them splitting up made each group easier to deal with, she doubted that what the criminals had planned was going to be good.

Still, she couldn't do anything about them, and neither did she dare do anything to the remaining three downstairs. Two were still standing over the captives, which meant it was likely that the one who was not was this Jackal person, the ringleader. And she definitely didn't want to mess with him.

For now, Fogata decided, it was best to just keep an eye on the situation...and maybe try to figure out what in the world that hoverboarding idiot would pull next. It was fortunate the criminals hadn't seen his move, or all hell would have broken loose.

Nathan approached one of the cops. He didn't know what would happen but he figured he's take a shot. "how can I help" he said moving his sleeve up show in USMC tattoo, hopeing the ink would get him behind the police line.

Officer: Sir, the situation is been taken care of. We don't need any help. and we certainly do not need civilians involved.

Captain Ford picks up the megaphone

Ford: Jackal! We have a negotiator. He will enter the building. He's completely unarmed. I repeat, he's unarmed.

Jackal peaks his head out of the window

He can come in, but if he pulls anything off, then I will blow this place off, ya hear?

Holding up his hands ina gesture of goodwill, Incubus walks through the door witha completely straight face.

Unarmed. I love it when they say that.

"Ahem," He turned his eyes to the men with guns, "We are willing to hear your demands."

The Jackal came down from the first floor and pointed to a desk

Shall we?

"Of course," Incubus sat down at the desk, casting a lazy glance over the hostages before settling on The Jackel, "I can assume we will be relatively civil about this."

"Tell me when the camera's spoofed, sir," said Doppler, having heard at least about Incubus' arrival over the radio. "Waiting on that to move in."

Jackal: Well, it depends on whatever happens here, see. I don't want the money here. I don't give a damn about it. All I want is an helicopter and to not be chased. Simple, really.

Of course, your part on all this is simply to negotiate and tell me this is impossible. but you will yield...because if you don't...I don't mind blowing this place up to bits.

Ford: Doppler, it's all done. you can move in. Be careful, though. any misstep might get our man in there killed, got that?

"Got it." Still keeping his scanning active, Doppler slowly and cautiously tried the door. Meanwhile, he kept track of the mysterious low-frequency background signals. Their radio transmitters may have been intended to make defusing them difficult, but it also enabled to keep track of their locations.

"Really now? Going through all the trouble of holding up a bank and then not even trying to leave with the loot?" Incubus raised an eyebrow, "Seems like a wasted effort to me. Not to mention that I'm curious about how you intend on getting out of here if you did try to blow this place up."

Come on... show me your motives.

"Feel free to check me for wires." Incubus smirked, "I've got nothing to hide."

I don't mind if there are wires. It would be reasonable. I know you're a cop, after all. I won't tell you anything I don't want the cops to know...

"So, all you want for Christmas is a helicopter?" Incubus said before he could help himself.

"But really... you have a bank full of hostages and enough explosives to wipe out at least three buildings. And all you want is the helicopter?"
