Good luck, but the reviewer did emphasize that the flaws outweighed the accomplishments...
Well, in the past I played the first Age of Wonders on my ancient notebook, where each turn took more than 10 minutes to resolve, and managed to have fun, so I guess I have some tolerance for slow turn-based games.

A patch has come out that addresses some of the problems, clearly it wont fix everything, but still nice to know that they are aware of the problems and care about them.

Well, it was also mentioned that combat was asinine and relied a lot on gimmicks. So poor battle design can also be construed.
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.
