Terraria: If Minecraft and Metroidvanias had a baby

I like having a 100% glass greenhouse for maximum sunlight exposure.

Slime mount, a lot of balloons and the umbrella are what I use to glide around. With summons, you're relatively unmolested as you travel.

Also, is the turtle mount good fr anything besides being sold?

Increases speed in water.

I have not yet found body of liquid that couldn't be dealt with more easily by the Lava Waders than with the turtle. Bodies of water just don't get that big on Terraria.

Except the oceans but there's hardly any reason to go to the bottom.

The oceans need a biome-specific building. The desert gets the pyramid, so the ocean should get Rhy'leth or something. And possible unique post-hardmode mobs, like a sea serpent. If they double the width of the map, they can make dedicated ocean environments, like tropical islands and such.

Could be a little tough to fit in, despite the size. It does have the ocean chests, though. As for mobs on Hard Mode, there's Fishron.

If you introduce the jungle biome to the sea, it'd be infested by that evil fish whose name I forget. A-something?

I keep thinking Pirarucu when I see that fish though. That's the favorite fish of Blanka from street fighter.

Yeah and then you get couple waterbreath potions, loot them all and never come back.

Hey, I've farmed Sharks there for my Megashark more than once.

Also, fishing is ridiculously overpowered in this game, so I made frequent returns to kidnap Clown Fish.

Actually, I just built an automatic trap where the jungle meets the seas, the fish just seem to like jumping into the lava pit for some reason...

Terraria update! Have now beaten the twins and worked out how to make Hallowed mimics. Considering make a hard mode crimson world to get crimson mimics. Now trying to work out how to beat Skeletron prime. So far, jumping on a mine cart and shooting at Hime with explosive bullets from the mega shark doesn't seem to be working. Bouncing on his head with the slime mount while shooting down, the means I used to beat Skeletron the first time, also isn't working. Now have the Daedalus Stormbow though, so… yay?

Will check the guide for trying to beat prime and see what I can come up with…

Once again, there's Gravitation Potions, although that might interact oddly with the Stormbow. If you're confident in your reflexes, you could try an all-platform arena. The cannon doesn't detonate on platforms, so you can effectively take one limb out of the fight that way. Of course, that means you have to manually dodge and fight all the other parts while moving at normal speed.

I'm getting some errors on my houses, and I can't figure out what's wrong with them ('This is not valid housing' doesn't help...)

If anyone could look at them and help figure out what's wrong I would most appreciate that.

A door maybe, for the top one. I presume you've got a chair behind your sprite so I dunno what's the problem with that house.

Platforms count as an entry/exit. It's how prison boxes work.

Ah, right.

Maybe the corruption is closer than you think it is? Although I don't know if it gives a specific message or just refuses.

Corruption gives a specific message, the house on the bottom-right is too close to the Corruption (I'll just leave it until the Steampunker arrives :P), the other two are giving generic error message, as if there wasn't an attempt at a house at all.

Yeah, the Corruption encroaching too much is also all I can guess from that pic. You don't need to wait for the Steampunker if you've got a lot of cash and gel. Go buy 200 Bombs (not Dynamite—that stuff's horrifyingly cost inefficient) from the Demolitionist and craft them into Sticky Bombs. Then find the Corruption and go ham. Alternatively, a Rocket Launcher with Rocket IIs serves the same purpose and is even funner.

I dare guess, perhaps you could place a wall behind all the wooden blocks as well?
I am not very knowledgeable, admittedly, so I do not know if it is that, or if slopes also interfere with buildings…

The sloped 'room' works fine, along with the room above it.

It's just every room connected to the 'I' in the middle.

I assume there are chairs hidden behind the NP Cs in the pic?

Hmmm, actually, try removing the bottom blocks of the "I". I think with the way the game determines the size of a room, it stops the measuring up against those blocks. If it's not a sizing issue, I'd wager that the way of measuring means that it's omitting your light sources, since they're tucked into the "I".

That doesn't explain the top room, but I will do that next time I'm in. Thanks!

Not 100% sure on this, but that may be because you have too much platform. I recall having issues with my NPCs before where I had a room where, at night, they couldn't stand, because they want non-platform floor that also isn't occupied by furniture.
