So I don't know what came over me, but it occurred to me to attack Retinazer first instead of Spazmatism... I don't know why I thought it was a good idea, but the first time I tried killing Spazmatism first, I won! (I changed strategies too, swapping to Titanium Armor from Frost, and equipping Ankh Shield—mostly for knockback prevention, though I found out a bit late that it doesn't protect against cursed green burns...)
Also, I accidentally deleted the Retinazer trophy that was dropped. :(
Now I have a shiny new mine cart, I'm licensed to mine Chlorophyte, and it's time to head back to the jungle and get a new yoyo and/or Shadowflame Knife replacement.
For Plantera I only built a huge triangle arena with platforms in the middle of the jungle. Didn't need to do the minecart tracks either. Unicorn + Ankh Shield means I won't be tied down. And I spammed Death Sickle for damage. As usual, Nurse is nearby above the arena.
I didn't get Tiki Staff though. Finding more bulbs is so annoying. :)
Any way to make bulb hunting easier? Do bulbs respawn?
I'm guessing a stretch of flat land will do it.
I'm now stuck figuring out what to do with Golem. I'm lost without the Nurse hahaha.
I wonder if grappling myself on a wooden spike and taking 1 damage with Cross Necklace increasing I-frames will stop taking damage from the laser spam.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Ok, double posting to say I have tempo quit at a good spot and will probably come back during the next (minor) patch to resume my Expert Mode playthrough.
So I've figured out that the Golem is a DPS race that I normally can't win, but I farmed the Crimson Key and Vampire Knives, and healing against that boss became a non-issue, so I just stood there tanking lasers while Yoyo-ing or Terrablade-ing it while my life is high.
RNG was a bit frustrating though, I couldn't acquire the Picksaw until about my 30th Golem kill. Along the way I picked up two sets of dev gear, but I probably am not gonna farm the rest until I get Moon Lord items.
Speaking of 30th Golem kill, I also made an AFK farm for Lizard Power Cells, using the lower left corner of the Golem room, some lava and some spear traps. To stop enemy spawns outside, I also walled up the tunnels at the bottom of the temple. I had to fix it quite a bit since there were holes where Illuminant Slimes could spawn.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! It's amazing how far Terraria's come from being a mere PC game looking to copy Minecraft on the 2D plane Metriod-vania style into being it's own veritable franchise.
When you're picking a character to play as, there's a time stat on each character. Does anyone know what it means?
Pretty sure it's just the amount of time you've played the character for.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiIt was only in this major patch, so if ya haven't played a long time before this patch, like me, everyone's time will read zero at first.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!I didn't even buy the game until well after 1.3 was released, and my first character has a time of about 9 hours, my second character has a time stat of all zeroes, and my expert mode melee character has a time of about 35 minutes. Meanwhile, Steam says I've put about 200 hours into this game.
My game is probably glitched, then.
That, or you leave the game on in a long time in the background, at the main menu.
I've been playing since 1.0, my time spent reads 550 hours, of course my actual gameplay is way less as a lot of it is from AFK farms.
Also can anyone explain this: I put Truffle and Dryad in the same small mushroom biome house to live together, in different rooms. Minutes later: Dryad was slain. :p

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Well, obviously Dryad killed herself and is trying to pin the blame on Truffle.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Was it during a Blood Moon/Solar Eclipse/invasion? Because stuff will spawn down there with them during that time. Unfortunately for Dryad, she doesn't have a way to defend herself (she just buffs others), whereas I believe the Truffle can fight back. So it's probably a case of them both getting attacked and Truffle doing nothing to save her (or worse, launching enemies into her from knockback). If not, then, did you secure the door? NPCs have a dumb habit of wandering out and getting into trouble. It's for this reason that I stopped using doors for external access (I still use doors to divide rooms within the quarters sections themselves) to my NPC quarters and just went with platforms.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiI wrote some fanfiction.
Next time I continue this, would you suggest I dig down near spawn for something, or risk the Underground Sand Biome? Either way I know I'm gonna do some fishing.
- Remembers he didn't mention getting the fishing pole

I do writing, feel free to check out my stories here! https://numbugwritingblog.tumblr.com/post/686233243868102656/numbugs-shared-heroic-uniOne time, I got a world whose spawn was right at the edge of the ice biome. There was about one screen of forest between it and the (underground) desert.
But on the other hand, that world was filled to the brim with shadow orbs and underground cabins, which made the experience somewhat less painful.
Also, you should explore the desert.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Needs more Dungeon altbiome or minibiome of Aperture Labs with dedicated miniboss.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Sentry turret mobs!
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Terraria: Otherworld ain't dead yet. But it ain't close to release either.
The developer decided to overhaul much of the game's core mechanics, meaning that if you've managed to play an early copy, it probably isn't going to be the same when it's put into testing again.
Most of the changes will be to make the game more focused upon adventuring and not building the town. And in regards to the town, it'll be much more automated; for one, you can build defensive turrets and the townsfolks are supposed to be able to fight back to an extent. Also, weapons can be leveled up or given specific upgrades.
Not much info beyond that.
But the townsfolk can already fight back fairly well. Throughout pre-Hard, they can easily do as well on the player against invasions and the like, even in an Expert world. And while they get noticeable weaker as Hard progresses, it's not until stuff like Reapers start showing up that they're really in over their heads.
Of course, this is all against normal mobs. If the player pulls a boss into the base, expect them to get whooped.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshi#5662 Nope, the doors aren't secure yet. And it wasn't a Blood Moon or whatever special event, she just died.
Though since then, I've had my main house have a "futuristic" door that disappears and reappears when a player steps on a pressure plate. I just haven't done it for the mushroom biome house.
The surface mushroom biome is weird... it turns day into night.
Heh. Just like that other game. Face Palm.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Well, apparently there's parties now.
(And cog walls. Guess one could make a fortress out of gears and cogs now. Or balloons… that would be hilarious.)
Now known as Cibryll. This is why sometimes a little less alpha testing can sometimes be better for the final product.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.Final Wii U update came out yesterday, new 3DS update incoming, tease for a NX version.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."
I'd hope so. That thing takes an insane amount of resources to build.
