Hey tropers, I just read a story from Time, and its implications are pretty interesting.

What do you guys think?

EDIT: Note if you get an error, take out the %20 after each comma, hope this helps.

By Hell, I assume we mean the eternal-fire-and-brimstone type?

Cool. Religious reform needs to come from within. Rob Bell looks like a step in the right direction.

@Elfive Do we really have anyway of knowing that? Also, this is not the thread for a discussion on God's nature.

Also, the doctrine of universalism/annihilationism has been around for a while, but has yet to fall into the mainstream view of Christian beliefs.

I subscribe to the latter view myself.

Good. Then I don't have to live thousands of years being covered in exploding burning cold pus filled boils. Or just burning ones. Or being burned. Or being burned along with the burning exploding pus filled boils. ...while being isolated.

Buddhism is a happy religion.

I think whether or not hell exists has a lot to do with God's nature.

@Elfive What type of Hell? The popular idea of Hell has very little to do with what is mentioned in Scripture.

The concept of hell is actually what turned me off Christianity.

Hearing my very nice grandparents telling me Ghandi and others like him are in Hell was very disheartening.

There's many types of Christianity and many types of Christian Hell. Just as there are many types of Buddhism and Buddhist Hell. Some don't even have Hell...

@KCK: There's quite a lot of stuff that has very little to do with scripture. I take it you don't hold the Fanon in high regard?
