I just saw the new Ghost in the Shell movie today. Wasn't bad. Wasn't good. Was Fine. Plus I didn't have to pay for a ticket thanks to the fact that I work at the theater, so that's good.

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY

Prepare for a plethora of posts for the occasion!

So I have a Discord server now, and it’s free for people to use!

(Within reason. No trolls, spambots, etc. allowed, but more on that later.)

For a while now I’ve wanted a place where my friends from multiple communities could gather and talk about whatever, as well as a place where people victimized by cliquishness, bullying, and the nastier parts of internet/fandom culture could be a bit safer. After looking into my options, I decided a personal Discord server was my best bet. (Also, I was mysteriously banned from one server I used to run with for reasons I don't know but highly suspect.) So if you want to have a safe place to meet new people and have light conversation feel free to check it out. I’m not sure how many people we’ll get, but it’s worth a shot.

If you don’t know what Discord is, it’s an instant message program, it’s completely free, and it can be used in a browser if you don’t want the commitment of installing a program on your computer. It also has a mobile app. WAAPT has its own Discord server you can check out if you ask Tagg for a link.

Channels:

• #general: Talk about anything casual.
• #writingtips: A lot of my friends are writers, so I figured I’d give them a place to talk about that.
• #gaming: Discord was made for gamers, after all. Talk about your video game exploits here.

There are a few channels only people with certain privileges can use, please ask me about them privately.

As you should be expecting, there are RULES:

• It should be clear that intolerance of any national, racial, ethnic, religious, LGBT+, neurodivergent, etc. group will not be tolerated in and of itself, especially if you pull stereotypically politically incorrect arguments out of your ass trying to defend yourself.

• Harassing people for their tastes is out of line as well. I do not care if your least favorite fictional character is their favorite, vice versa, or something along those lines, you do not bully or ostracize people on my server.

• Spamming the server with shitposts, constantly asking Captain Obvious questions, intentionally trying to get a rise out of people, being unnecessarily negative during something positive or gushy for no reason but being a joykiller, being cold, inconsiderate or worse flippant when someone is genuinely upset over an issue that’s legitimately wounded them… yeah, all that is not allowed.

• Excess negativity is strongly discouraged due to encouraging a lot of the above and rubbing people here for a good time the wrong way.

• I, Tagg, Pippi, and a couple of other friends by the names of Dragonfree and... Someone else TBD will have mod privileges. (For those of you mentioned not already on the server, consider this an invite.) That means any of us can delete offensive messages and kick or ban users. We won’t stoop to banning people just because they’re there or without telling them why, but we won’t hesitate to deal with rules being broken.

So, yeah, as I hinted with the Green and White reboot I’m doing something special for the retroactive 5th anniversary of my Pokemon shared universe project, the Yangverse. If you don’t know what it is, it’s an attempt to do the Pokemon world my way, with stories that don’t necessarily rely very heavily on each other for continuity but still share the same world and the same rules. As mentioned before it got started with the original Green and White in 2012 and now I’ve stuck with this so long I want to celebrate with some special stories that take its world further. As for what that entails…

Stories I’ve already done for this:

• The Great Green And White Rewrite: The first Yangverse story from Reshiram’s perspective, spruced up a bit.

• Reality’s Edge: 3rd place contest entry where Alain learns the hard way what people think about him, and only one can save him.

Stories I will do for this before the end of the year if I can help it:

• Divided I Fall: A story focusing more on Kendall’s backstory and their time as the Origional Dragon.

• Helpless: A story focusing on a character from Pokken Tournament trying to find a new lease on life.

• Splice of Life: A story focusing on Mewtwo and his relationships with others.

• An entry for Serebii's Platonic oneshot contest; could be one of the other stories in this post, could be something completely new, who knows right now.

Stories I hope to also slot in if I can manage:

• Cracks in the Earth: A biopic of sorts about a certain Steven Stone.

• The end of Rude Awakening: If you don’t know, a Pokemon/Fire Emblem crossover that’s my current chapterfic project. I’ve got a bit of writer’s block on the latest chapter, which is part of why it’s been taking so long (also I’m busy and distracted), but I’ve got a good idea of what to do the rest of the fic, and it’s intended to be short (like, less than twenty chapters).

• The beginning of Heroes After All: AKA a certain fic that may have been in development hell a while. I am still determined to make it happen, and I now plan on that being when Rude Awakening is done.

But one thing I've been withholding publicly for a while is what Heroes After All is even about. Let me show you next post...

WAAPT!Robin: How about one of those fish out of water movies?

Lucario:Yeah, I'm not so sure about that, Robin.

Pokey the Emboar: It's about dog who teams up with greatest pig assassin ever... and they smashy peoplemons heads... a lot.

So yeah, Heroes After All, as a reminder, will have two versions, one canon to the Yangverse and one at least semi-canon to WAAPT, with changes to accomodate each! Also, on that note guess the WAAPT expies from that teaser up there.
