We Are All Pokemon Trainers Discussion

I got an idea for this summer (yes, it's march, but y'know how ideas work). You listening? Okay. Two words:

Alolan

Pokéthlon.

Seems pretty nice? Wait for the idea to get fully developped: each participant use three pokemons as a help. No Rides, no Flying. The Pokéthlon follow theses steps:

• Mele-Mele Island: The first Island. Starts at Iki Village, do the whole island tour, run to Hau'li Port, swim to:
• Akala Island: run to the south of the volcano, climb up, go down, all along the volcano, go to the tunnel, to the lighthouse, back at the Battle Royal, swim to:
• Ula'Ula Island: Starting from Malie city, climb to the observatory, go down to the Tapu Ruins, but first go pet a Slowpoke, and then go back to Malie city to swim to:
• Poni Island: the last run, go to the Battle Tree.

Basically it's a condensed version of the Island Tour, without the Trials, but with running. To avoid someone getting left behind, there's different steps, each one stopping at the end of a swim session. Battle can be done to slow down participants, but backstabs are highly discouraged. Personnal Pokémons can be used as a ride. If one of your Pokémons fall K.O. during a step, you can't use it until the next step's start (this count even if he was your ride). All three Pokémons out and you're disqualified from the step.

I know it should be difficult to realise but if correctly done it could be awesome.

Anyone else having trouble logging into Pidgin lately? It's been taking me almost a half hour to get in some days.

Phaz: In some ways I think it might be interesting, others... if it is in the summer, I dunno about going through all 4 islands like that before visiting them more thoroughly from a story sense and... hmm, do we have any good examples of multiplayer race things we've done IRP?

Phaz: I... don't really see that working all too well, sorry. It sounds like a good idea for a minigame in an actual video game, but not so much in an RP context.

Yeah, though about it. Looking back it's a bit stupid in a play by post.

Could make a good thing in an anime episode if Game Freak Ninjas are watching.

On my end expect my RP activity to be a bit more subdued this week as I work on writing projects as well as revisiting a few favorite movies and play a few recent video games to help keep my anxiety at a tameable level.

Do note, however, at least one of the things I'll be working on is for    April Fools.

So much to do, so much to see on the April 1st.

I already got an idea.

• Your Trainer's name: Alana Iaolani
• Age: 22
• Gender: Female
• Ethnicity: Native Hawaiian.
• Brief description of their appearance: Alana is about 5'8" and of a somewhat athletic build. Her muscles aren't very bulky, as she's built more for flexibility than brute strength. Her hair is white and tied in a way that resembles the romantic tuck style from the games. Color at her roots suggests she dyes it. When at home in Alola, she dresses in a sporty style- usually in tank tops and shorts.
• Any ties to an organization: Closest she has is briefly working a background dancer job for the J Team TV show.
• Region of origin: Alola
• Backstory: Alana lived a pretty normal life, born in Iki Town to loving parents and a sister several years her senior. When she was old enough to do her Island Challenge, Alana launched into it as soon as she could.. Though not without a few interesting parting words for Hala. Just before she left with her then four Pom-Pom Oricorio, Alana told Hala, "Suck it old man, I don't need your crummy starters". She would come to regret this, but hindsight is 20/20 and Hala luckily had a good sense of humor.
• Alana made it all the way to Poni Island in her challenge before just.. stopping. She doesn't discuss the reason why but soon after arriving on the island Alana turned around and headed back to Melemele. She'd always intended to go back and finish the challenge, but life laid one thing on top of the ther for her and she eventually forgot.
• Nowadays Alana is a professional dancer, though she battles on the side when she needs extra money. She lives mainly in Hau'oli City, though she often travels for jobs in other places.

• Species: Oricorio (Pom-Pom)
• Nickname: Hibiki
• Gender: Female
• Ability: Dancer
• Personality/Bio: One of the first Oricorio Alana ever caught, alongside Tsubasa. Hibiki is probably the most outgoing of the four. She's very cheerful most of the time, though she shares Alana's stubbornness when she's angry.

• Species: Oricorio (Sensu)
• Nickname: Tsubasa
• Gender: Female
• Ability: Dancer
• Personality/Bio: By most accounts she's a pleasant bird to be around. She's very polite and spends almost as much time out of her ball as Hibiki. The only thing that tends to turn people off of her is her obsession with death.

• Species: Oricorio (Pa'u)
• Nickname: Maria
• Gender: Female
• Ability: Dancer
• Personality/Bio: The least outgoing of all of Alana's Oricorio. She spends a lot of time on the Internet through Alana's phone, though how she manages this has always been a mystery to Alana. (She uses telekinesis to manipulate a stylus). She and Chris were caught a few months after Hibiki and Tsubasa.

• Species: Oricorio (Baile)
• Nickname: Chris
• Gender: Female
• Ability: Dancer
• Personality/Bio: The most fiery of Alana's Oricorio.… Fitting, considering what style she is. Chris was actually the most eager to change her type when Alana first started her challenge (Tsubasa coming in at second). She enjoys battle, and though she tries to act classy when fighting she tends to drop it pretty quickly.

• Species: Swanna
• Nickname: Cygno
• Gender: Male
• Ability: Keen Eye
• Personality/Bio: Doesn't talk much. He's probably the most responsible of Alana's team, and though he's been there for the shortest time he tends to keep the others in check. Alana caught him on a trip to Unova.

Well that took longer than it should've

Daydre and Ishta already know, but I've been working on a Expanse style RP. I've got a huge plot planned out and so far it's been barely touched. If anyone likes the mystery and intrigue of the Expanse, feel free to join, I hope to do it justice.

So I think it's time for me to just face the fact that I'm never going to be active in the RP again. I just don't have the spark for writing that I used to.
