No, not a 40K game, a warhammer fantasy game. And not an RPG or an MMORPG or anything like that, basically I want a spiritual sequel to Warhammer Dark Omen that doesen't suck.

Why can't someone make one?

There's a Warhammer besides Warhammer 40K?

[up]Yes. Fun trivia, you know how people keep talking about how Starcraft supposedly was suppose to be a 40K game? Well Warcraft was originally going to be a Warhammer game.

[up]Well that's the rumor. I've never actually been shown a public statement or business papers. So I just see both as derivative from every other fantasy series with orcs, magic, humans and demons (which was what Warcraft 1 basically was).

And both Starcraft and Warcraft couldn't have been originally Games Workshop games. It has to be one or the other. If there was even a deal between the two companies it would probably have involved Fantasy/Warcraft; because Blizzard had come into its own by the time Starcraft came out.

Thing is, Warhammer Fantasy is just behind Middle Earth when it comes to the Ur-Example of High Fantasy. It's drawn a lot of influence from other works over the years, but usually after it's dropped its own influence into them already.

Could I believe that Blizzard was working with Games Workshop to make some games based on the Warhammer IP?

Sure, I could believe that. I could also believe that they came up with some similar stuff from the same sources and so it looked a lot alike.

Games Workshop certainly can't throw stones when it comes to derivative IP.

Games Workshop has never thrown stones at Blizzard to my knowledge. Its just that both Blizzard and GW have active and large Fandoms; which means that there is a significant Fandumb faction for both companies who go after eachother because they have nothing better to do.
