I thought the 2:1 thing was just kinda a loose unofficial guideline.

No, passing a single-prop resolution with a simple majority (rather than a 2:1 supermajority) is the exception, not the rule.

Can't we just say "close enough" at 1.84:1? Especially when the reasons for renaming are as obvious as they are in this case, and there's dozens of votes in favour of it?

We could, but we shouldn't—not if it's still moving. That's the sort of thing we'd do after putting a 3-day clock on the thread.

It's been up for a month hovering around 1.6 to about 1.8. It got close, but I think in the end there's no consensus.

Well, it was dead for most of that month. Things are still moving now; let's wait until voting trickles off again
