If the failure rate really is 30%, then that just means that 24% of 360s were repaired at some point in their life. Of course, on the 360's side, it also doesn't take into account the fact that the 360 came out nearly a full year before the PS 3, so it's reasonable to assume that more of them would have lost "active" status in that time.
