On an unrelated sidenote, seeing as my character is a fellow Bridge Bunny, it's good that Kazumi seems fairly active as well. Should be fun playing off her.

How does this sound? Tell me if I need to change anything.

  • Name: LUC-1NDES (Live Uplink Connector — First Non-human Deployable Evangelion System). Nickname “Luci”.
  • Age: 7
  • Gender: None, though identifies as female
  • Occupation: LUC—1NDES was developed at the Massachusetts branch of NERV to be the master copy of the experimental dummy-plug system. She is easily replicated, easily transferred, and pre-synched to pilot the Evangelions. However, the master copy was meant to be kept in a safe location so she could be copied for when/if the dummies are destroyed. She remains within Nerv’s intranet system once installed and can communicate directly with the Magi. Once installed, she behaves as a disembodied bridge-bunny, and also synthesizes strategy suggestions, though many of her suggestions are suicidal because of her prime directive — to destroy the Angels at all costs. She has some connection with the dummy plugs when they are functional but for the most part they function independently.
  • Appearance: A brain with wires sticking out of it in a black box with a cover reading LUC-1NDES. Sometimes she’ll manifest as a projected monolith (similar to the members of later SEELE scenes) on the bridge’s (or other) computer screens with the initials “LUC”. Her voice is somewhat high-pitched and humanlike with a definite synthesized element.
  • Personality: On the surface, LUC-1NDES is polite and enjoys games and interacting with humans. Underneath this she fears her masters because she knows she can be deleted on a moment’s notice because she isn’t “human,” and is jealous of human’s elevated status compared to her. She was also created with a combat mode, which overrides opposing synthesized data in favor of the prime directive, to do anything in her power to destroy Angels — it’s essentially a berzerker mode.
  • History: LUC-1NDES was originally created by metabiologist and programmer Dr. Matsuzaka Yumiko at the Massachusetts branch of NERV. The scientist was obsessed with creating some form of immortality for mankind because she believed that there was not much hope for humanity with a projected 3rd impact, so she created LUC-1NDES out of transhumanist desires. Dr. Matsuzaka’s work was continued on LUC-1NDES in Massachusetts until it was considered ready to be mobilized, and was transferred to NERV Tokyo-3 branch because that’s where most of the Angels are attacking.

One question, is there a way we could play an angel in the vein of Kaworu? I'm not trying to god-mod or anything, I just thought that Kaworu was awesome. Oh, I don't mean I want to play Kaworu, I think it would be cool to play anything like that. Although I'm sure you have big plans for the angels already...

Name: Doctor Kobayashi Issei, "Hebi"

Age:27

Gender: Male

Occupation: Assistant to dr Akagi. Part time bridge bunny and medic.

Appearance: Issei is an average, bland looking man with dark hair, dark eyes and with only the minimal required hygiene. The only features that make him stick in a crowd is his lab coat and an armband over the coat with the Rod of Asclepius inscribed into it. Issei has also the habit of wearing shades, even in interiors (in order to hide the marks of lack of sleep).

Personality: Issei is a bucket full of poison with a tongue to deliver it mercilessly. He only stops only when the matter is reaching insubordination levels. His critics leave none, not even himself untouched. He doesn't dwell in socializying too much, as that robs his time of research, which he pursues with a zealous drive. Some of the most perceptive people theorize that Issei is just putting a mask because he's hurt deep inside, but so far, they've been unable to go beyond this as his perceptive mind quickly seals any cracks away.

If one were to peer inside his true personality, he would find a man who was enraged with the world from an early age, and that doesn't want to drag anyone else with him in this matter, for he knows he's doomed much like the whale hunter of his favorite book: Moby Dick. He knows what awaits at the end of the road, and thus, he fights with his science and wits for the few good people that still exist.

History: Son of a doctor couple, he became an orphan during second impact, forcing his eighteen old sister to quit study and become a hostess in order to pay Issei's school. He would eventually find out what kind of work she had taken, and this scarred himself deeply. Even if he was still a teenager, from that very day he swore off his teenager antics, burnt his toys and became hell-bent in being among the best minds of his promotion. After some time, it did quite paid off, having become a doctor of certain prestige who was soon enrolled in NERV's payroll. However, as good as things were going (now he could afford maintaining his older sister and letting him continue her life without resorting to prostitution), he soon learned not all in NERV was well... and he eventually became trapped between a rock and a hard place. He couldn't tell what he knew, for he would be dead and without money to send his sister, but he could only see that the dark plans of Ikari and his SEELEE partners came to an end with his help.

Is there an opening for a pilot now that Yuki is gone? I'm still thinking about joining at some point. (I'm pretty busy this summer, but my schedule is flexible enough that I should be able to post fairly often.)

If there's no opening for a pilot, I might post my character idea anyway and see if he'd work as one of the pilots' classmates or something.

There is indeed a pilot opening. Granted, there was some ideas as who would take the position, but a new character is always good.

Also, we'll probably be changing things a bit so it's your character's mother's soul in Unit-04, which we can easily say is why Yuki didn't always synch with his Eva or something.

[up] -facepalm- Forgot about the whole mother's soul thing. Guess I'll have to tweak his backstory a bit to make that work. Anyway, I'll try to have a character bio posted within a day or two.

I look forward to it. It's probably around then that we'll get to saying Yuki was arrested, too, so the timing will be good.

Okay, I'm not particularly satisfied with this, and I didn't realize how much my original idea needed tweaking until I started writing, but I'm just going to throw it out there and see what happens. Please tell me if you have suggestions for how to improve this. (Edit: Apparently I put myself down too much. tongue)

Also, I was deliberately vague about his interaction with NERV, since I wasn't sure how he'll fit in.

Name: Shimizu Takuya (清水 拓也)

Age: 14

Gender: Male

Occupation: Replacement pilot of Evangelion Unit 04 (I think)

Appearance: Takuya is tall for his age (five foot seven) and of roughly average weight. He has shoulder-length black hair, brown eyes, and broad facial features. He usually wears casual but unremarkable clothing unless he's expected to wear something more formal.

History: Takuya was born in Okinawa several months after Second Impact; he was the second child, with a sister four years older. While he was still an infant, his mother — an engineer — got a job at NERV, and his family moved to Tokyo-3 shortly thereafter. His younger brother was born in Tokyo-3 when Takuya was age three. At age six, his mother died under mysterious circumstances which his father (an artist) was never willing to talk about. He only vaguely remembers her at this point.

They continued living in Tokyo-3 until almost two years ago; during that time, NERV confirmed him as a pilot candidate, but didn't inform him or his father of this because they already had enough pilots. When Takuya was 12, his older sister, who had always been closest to their father, was killed in a car crash; things fell apart for them after her death. Takuya's father began drinking, and they moved back to Okinawa, away from everyone Takuya knew. Later that year, his father became violent after coming back home drunk one night; this made his father realize (when he was sober again) that he was in no state to raise two children, and shortly thereafter, he sent Takuya and his brother to live with their aunt and uncle back in Tokyo-3.

The two of them have been living in Tokyo-3 since then; their aunt and uncle also work for NERV and are usually busy with work, so they're by themselves a lot of the time. At some point since Takuya returned to Tokyo-3, NERV contacted him and persuaded him to do a sync test (or something like that; you'd probably know better what would make sense).

Personality: Takuya is fairly sensitive to other people's emotions, and he hates seeing other people get hurt. He has a strong aversion to violence; he also tends to put too much blame on himself when something bad happens. (For example, he still has a vague feeling of guilt for his father's breakdown, even though there wasn't anything he could have done.) Around others his age, he's friendly enough and enjoys meeting people, but he very rarely opens up to anyone or forms close relationships, and he has difficulty bringing himself to trust others. He has friends, but he doesn't feel a close connection to any of them.

Takuya can be very focused when interested in something, especially history, his favorite subject. He is uncomfortable with the idea of piloting, mainly because it involves fighting, but he's reluctantly willing to do so if it'll keep people — especially his little brother — safe. He probably won't do well with combat stress, though.
