Magic card: Life Drain

What's wrong with Enlongs crop again? I liked it.

The numbers barely stand out. Especially on Kefka

Pokemon collage > FF collage
Better graphic, more visible lifebars, demonstrative text support, less distracting unneeded stuff.

I'll go see if I have any pokes with that move to make a collage with "had it energy drained" phrase included when I get home.

I like Shang Tsung best of the suggestions so far. (FYI, his soul-stealing attack is an example in at least a couple of the games in the series.)

I wouldn't object to trying to get some mileage out of text. I'd actually be comfortable using a full Magic card, provided that the text is simple and to-the-point (which the previous image failed at). This trope is explicitly about the game mechanic of damaging the enemy while healing yourself, so it should be acceptable here. Essence Drain, Sorin's Thirst, Sorin's Vengeance, and Vampiric Touch have the best combinations of indicative art and simple text.

From those, Sorin's Thirst and Vampiric Touch work best for me.

I have yet to see something I like. I realize this trope mainly applies to video games, and, seeing as I play very few of them with any regularity, I should just back out now. But I won't. So THERE.

Not knowing what it's from, that picture of somebody flinging oranges at a guy and bringing them back means nothing to me. I'm sure it's a popular game of some sort. But if a casual observer came to our wiki and started at this page, he would see a guy with oranges around him. Is that a good thing? A bad thing? What? And the same goes for the Pokemon picture. If we saw "X had its energy drained", then, yeah. I could work with that. But that's not there. It conveys nothing to somebody unfamiliar with it, and, before you ask, people like that still exist. Okay, I'm done now.

Just noting that at this point, we actually are talking about using the full cards, as the text in the box is very relevant to the trope.

Yep. I sorta figured that. I just wanted to... I don't know. Make sure the video game images were off the table? I don't really know what I wanted. I should know better.

Fire Emblem has some skills with Life Drain. I'm not sure if the red and green numbers are clear enough of a demonstration, but it's something.

If this idea is liked, I can try to get better screenshots.
