@Rhyme Beat: Funny how Kyubey never tries to trick Lyra into trusting him.

Funny thing I'm bringing over from the main thread: I got a ton of mental pictures of X-Com encountering the Incubators and Magical Girls partway through the Martian War, which has been rescheduled for a later date to coincide with Walpurgisnacht.

I'm going to post some of my scraps of fiction and ideas here.

Idea: In my continuity, X-Com is not entirely staffed with ax-crazy agents. Some of them are really good, and the ax-crazies are mostly redshirts, except for the crazy awesome bunny-ear-lawyers amongst them.

Idea: Three major Magical Girls, or, rather, two magical girls and one potential contractee, form the core of this story. Two of these three are daughters of some of the X-Com agents. Their fathers are two of the longest-serving and luckiest veterans this side of X-Com, having survived five field missions each so far. I need three names. They mostly live near the X-Com base in Tokyo, Japan, although some of the Witch-realms will be in other countries where the X-Com team goes.

Scrap of story: Kyubey's constant smile took a hint of what could only be described as "satisfaction" in human terms as the little girl before him began thinking of a wish. "Go on," It said, "make your Wish, and become a Magical Gi-" ZORCH! ZORCH! ZORCH! She screamed as Daddy's laser pistol seared several neat, bloodless holes into Kyubey, which collapsed into an untidy heap. "Don't you even try it, Incubator," said her Daddy, his Psi-Amp glowing in his other hand, "I could see what you were thinking about doing to my little girl!" (Lasers burn cauterized holes into their target, so no gibsplosion that way unless enough blood flash-boils.)

Idea: X-Com gets its first taste of Witch-realms when a Terror Mission goes horribly wrong. One agent dies to the Witch's melee, but the Commander doesn't believe it because the wounds sustained by the poor guy resemble those inflicted by the Floater-raised Reapers. A few other agents suffer from a chain of disasters beginning with a Witchkissed Agent shooting up the squad with his Autocannon (HE ammo) before turning his own pistol on himself, and ending with a panic cascade. The unit was saved by a Magical Girl, who killed the Witch and saved them from horrible deaths at the hands of each other and the Witch.

Idea: Late in the campaign, an Ethereal Battleship is shot down into a confirmed Witch Zone. The Battleship Commander takes offense to the Witch Kissing his fellow Ethereals and driving them to murder-suicide, and attempts to battle her with his psychic powers. Naturally it backfires horribly for him.

Idea: Of the three girls this story focuses on, One of them will sacrifice herself to save the others, and the second will sacrifice herself for a similar reason. Of the two lucky Agents this story will focus on, one of them will sacrifice himself to save his buddy, and the other will adopt his daughter in his memory. Years later, the girl will have a daughter who seems awfully familiar as she grows up.

Idea: X-Com inventory inspection reveals that several Blaster Bombs and a Launcher went missing. One of the Magical Girls confirms that it was one of their kind who took it (perhaps Homura, lol?)

I'm partially plotting this off one of my playthroughs of X-Com, so some of the more silly lapses of professionalism the Agents commit are actually mine. Thing is, I need to chart out how the alien threat from Cydonia would react to the presence of the Incubators and their contractees, and whether it would devolve into a three-way fight.

One thing I certainly plot for: Eventually the Ethereals catch wind of the presence of Incubators, especially after the botched infiltration attempt that ended up a horrible failure when the main Battleship was lost inside a Witch-realm. They decide to glass the major cities of Earth instead of merely infiltrating the governments, hoping to destroy Walpurgisnacht before it appears and ruins their plans to enslave the humans. X-Com learns this intel via a base raid, and is forced to time their Cydonia raid around WPN themselves, several months ahead of their original schedule. The two Agents I focus the X-Com scenario on will be on the Cydonia team, while their daughters will be trying to see what can be done about Walpurgisnacht should it affect the cityscape around X-Com Japan. It's going to be a race for Cydonia while the other Magical Girls try to thin out WPN, although given that this coincides with PMMM's timeline, they will not actually engage WPN, but instead be forced into a different battle from what they normally fight.

Idea: To be filed under Premium High Octane Nightmare Fuel - a Magical Girl trying to trace a Witch ends up getting caught inside a Snakeman Terror Mission. She gets Chrysallid'd, but survives because her Soul Gem was not destroyed, however she needs to destroy the Chrysallid that spawned from her previous body, and her Soul Gem is so tainted after regenerating from being hit by such a horrible attack...

Should I try and blend it, Tropers? Will it blend?

Okay, I am thinking of writing an Anne Frank is a Puella Magi crack fic right now. Problem is that I don't know where to upload it and I might post it here. Anyone interested?

I'm tempted to write what Kyoko's witch would look like.

Runes: Etna

Type: Beauty Queen

Her nature is gluttony. She gained the ability to change her appearance, and became a beauty queen.

She rather enjoys food, especially sweets and apples. She often sends out her familiars to raid the human world for food. Ironically, her self serving ways help others, as she and her familiars only attack other witches, puella magi, and those eviler than she. Is the "sworn enemy" of Octavia von Seckendorff. Rumor has it she is more self aware than the average witch and is that much more dangerous. To defeat her, you must have Genre Savvy.

And her familiars, dood.

Prinny

The beauty queen's familiars. Their duty is to work off their sins. Once mindless, the savvy beauty queen defeated other puella magi and formed them into these creatures. Like their master, not only are they self aware, but they have memories of their past lives. Their personalities are tinted with extreme laziness, and only respond to threats and rewards.

You know you want to add more tropes to THIS.

Wrong link for the last post. And do you mind if I draw? I'm out of witches from my fan fic and the idea is intriguing.

Dahahaha. Go ahead, but I get dibs on turning it into an actual fic (because self-aware witches and clawing back from despair amuse me.)

My take.

I liked this one. I hope you enjoyed how it turned out. And yes I edited your text a little.

So, might as well ask this here. Note that this will have spoilers for the anime.

There's a pair of fanfic ideas in my head, both of which are unabashed Fix Fics, and I can't decide which one to pick. The reason I can only pick one is that both stories use the same major plot element: Witches as Guardian Entities.

One is set quite literally after the end of the series, and the plot is that Homura is the only magical girl left in the city ( Mami and Kyouko vanished offscreen). A new enemy arrives, and she's simply unable to deal with it. Just when things become darkest a miracle happens - no, it's not Madoka, it's a formerly vanished magical girl. And then things start happening.

The other is basically a full-blown AU where the Guardian Entity concept is incorporated from the beginning. Madoka manifests a Witch, and has to save the others who are being controlled by the Incubator. It's like Magical Girls meets Jojos Bizarre Adventure.

Both fics would have Loads And Loads Of Characters and try to create a certain sense of epicness. However, they probably won't show up until Oriko Magica is done, mostly because both ideas might be affected by what happens.

So which one sounds better?

Hmm... The second is more interesting to me. But what does anyone think of the crossover?

[up][up]I take it the "Homura is what's his face" references would get pretty hefty? (I really need to give JJBA a try sometime soon.) That said, it's the one I'm interested in, though if you have an interesting twist to explain the changes to the system in your first idea it would work as well.

...italics.

[up][up]Actually, her witch would be one of the last ones revealed. But yes, it would stop time.

Eh, the twist is a sort of "Homura's time jumps had a greater effect than we thought...and it wasn't a positive effect either, but God!Madoka could utilize it" - ultimately it takes the Homura and Rika comparison to it's logical conclusion.

There's also the fact that the unvanished magical girls become even less human than they were before - although in keeping with the Fix Fic, they'll be some angsting and then they'll realize "hey, this isn't so bad".

^Neat.

I know I didn't explain the whole crossover joke with Kyoko's witch being Etna, so that's my fault. But I couldn't help but see the connections there (both wield spears, eat a lot, abrasive personalities, etc.) if she were a straight witch in an ironic hell, she'd never get any satisfaction from eating and would just eat endlessly. But since I wanted to play it closer to her becoming Etna, then the irony is would be in the fact that being selfish is ironically giving her sentience and help others, kinda like how Etna's a good person deep, deep down.

You know you want to add more tropes to THIS.
