@Sgt Ricko: Because it doesn't make sense. The Jedi are the paragons of good. Forget what the EU might tell you. It was bad enough with Jorus C'baoth. Anyway, I could tell that Krell was very much in the dark side. The Umbaran arc sort of foreshadowed this after Fives and Jesse blew up the airbase, when there was a close-up of Krell's eyes as he watched it burn. Generally, when the camera zooms into someone's face with fire in his eyes, that's a pretty good indication that that someone is bad.

That said, I won't deny that I want more shades of grey in the series. Heroes on Both Sides proved that Lucas Film can pull off an episode with grey morality and the Mon Calamari arc gave hints of it as well.

The full blown Sith thing threw me for a loop, me I just figured Krell was racist against clones, which would've made a very interesting plot point.

[up][up]But that's the thing. Why is it that the Star Wars universe ALWAYS has to have someone taking a "wrong" or "callous" action choose to be Sith? You'd think that both the Jedi Order and even the Sith themselves would've begun to see the issues with that given how much wars it's led to.

He was NOT a Sith. He has simply fallen to the Dark Side and was thus a Dark Jedi. Sith and Jedi are not synonymous with the Dark and the Light side. *sigh* You don't get to be a Sith until you are trained in what it means to be Sith (same with the Jedi). Its like calling yourself a Marine without going through their training. At best you make yourself ridiculous, at worst a real one might get pissed.

A Jedi who falls to the Dark Side is a Dark Jedi unless he receives Sith training and becomes one (technically he's also still a Dark Jedi then as he retains his Jedi training...Multiclass :P ) A Sith who goes to the Light side and was not a Jedi before (and would therefore revert to being a Jedi) would also not be a Jedi until he received Training as one and would until then be something as a Light Sith

And it was not poor leadership. Krell actively and deliberatly sabotaged the whole offensive with his tactics as to hamper the Republican efforts and afterwards go to Dooku and use it as credentials to join him and BECOME a Sith (his Apprentice). Its more of a "The force has shown me we can't beat them so I will JOIN them" situation than him simply deciding "hey, would be cool to be a Sith."

Killing a lot of Clones in the process (which cannot be replaced as easy as droids) would only be an added bonus on his resume. And all the killed Umbarans? Who cares as long as he gets what he wants. Beeing Sith is about achieving ones personal goals whatever you have to sacrifice. Those wars? Usually they started them fully knowing for their own purposes. You know...like the WHOLE FRIKKING CLONE WARS!

Taking a "callous" action IS an act towards the Dark Side for any force user. Not automatically a fall but a step toward it.

The Sith are simply the Gold Standard of Dark Side Users. And with the whole "my goals, whatever i need to do" wouldn't you also aim for that ;P?

Krell landing on the dark side? Obvious. Veeeery obvious. Traitor General trying to get his troops killed on purpose? Old Hat (do we have a trope for that, by the way?)

His Endgame Plan was probably that the Republic would be driven of Umbara, he would kill all the Clones (because...witnesses and which separatist doesn't love a lot of dead clones) and then try to get an appointment with Dookus Sith-Factor Casting. As his clone hate...in his view they were the enemy. And the Dark Side is not exactly known for enhancing your mental stability (a point of Sith training is to prevent it making you go mad with it).

In the end a great character was wasted on clones.

Nah, the Series has enough Dark Siders running around even discounting active Sith. We have yet to see Savage Oppress again And apparently Maul DID survive Ep1...iep?, the Nightsisters under Mother Talzin, Ventress is on the loose and still plotting and what else...ANOTHER Darksider running around during the war with another plotline...:/ getting crowded as it is for only 3 years of war.

You can't have too many Dark Siders when you an entire jedi council. BTW did anyone see the last episode with Ashoka?

Regarding the Mandalorian recton I was initially against it,but seeing how well it's been handle and the fact that my DM was able to transport it's basic concept directly into our Star Wars RPG and being able to explain how the Duchess was able to get on the throne made me change my mind. The New Mandalorian's peace effort originally seemed as a jab against Travis and her books, with the Death Watch being shown as what the rest justifiably see the Mandalorian culture like.

[up] I'm all for the retcon. I mean, it makes sense for the inhabitants of Mandalore to strive for a peaceful way of life after that civil war of theirs(which, mind you, ended in Mandalore becoming a nuclear-eradicated wasteland). It also makes sense for there to be technologically advanced infrastructure. Think about, a culture that has conquered other races and terrorized the galaxy can't do it without an industry. I mean, they couldn't have all been warriors before the war; there had to be engineers, scientists, and construction workers to build their ships, armor, blasters, and Basilisk war droids. A bunch of farmers couldn't have made them.

So as I've said before, I'm in favor of the retcon and I applaud the writers of this series for making that move. Not that I like the other retcons they've made, but still.

As for the recent episode, I enjoyed it and I wouldn't call it useless. After all, it strengthened Lux and Ahsoka's relationship. And it did advance the Mandalorian sub-plot. Well, in a way. The Death Watch aren't on good terms with the Seperatists anymore and Pre Vizsla now has a bone to pick with Dooku.

Yeah, which is what made me glad that my DM included it into our campaign with a few changes. He's made it so that Satine's ancestors came to the planet while the Taung were still the dominant species and long story short, became political rulers while the Mandalore is in control of military affairs. The current Jedi Mandalorian animosity is due to both sides getting involved in the situation that got the planet nuked. Also while every Mandlorian does have basic combat training, not everyone is a warrior and there's a caste system involved. ...I'm done rambling now.

Anywho... am I the only one who thinks that Vizsla's army is smaller that when we saw it last?. The lightsaber duel was interesting as always and you could really tell the clear difference in the way a Jedi with a lightsaber fights and the way a Mandalorian with a lightsaber fights.

I actually Like the battle droid humor

Ahsoka Tano is a great character, but she's not mentioned at all in Revenge of the Sith, so what the heck will happen to her?

She was probably killed in the great Jedi purge.

I must say, it is rather sad when a fricken cartoon series makes more sense and is more exciting then any of the Prequels.

@dazai: I also noticed that Vizsla's army was smaller this time around. My guess was that that's only a sub-division of the Death Watch led by Pre Vizsla personally and that there could be more elsewhere in hiding. Of course, it's just a guess. It would be nice if these details were explained. It would have also been nice if we knew exactly how Pre Vizsla got into a fight with Dooku. Did he personally try to kill him after the conclusion of the Season 2 Mandalorian trilogy or was it an argument they had personally that turned into a fight?

Anyway, the preview for the next episode looks interesting.

That would be interesting especially since while I think Dooku would definitely win,Vizsla would probably be able to give him a run for his money provided he doesn't try something stupid like engage him in lightsaber combat which probably explains the scar. I think the we'd have seen more of Vizsla and Death Watch in seasons 2 and 3 if John Favreau had a more open schedule.

Bo-Katan wearing dominatrix gear and holding a riding crop stands over Ahsoka(who's wearing nothing but a spike leather choker)says "You heave been a very very bad Padawan, and you're in need of some punishment!

Did anyone else see the recent episode? I didn't expect much from it based on the preview but it turned out to be pretty good. Of course, there are some plot holes that ticked me off. Like, why didn't Ahsoka feel Obi-Wan's body armor underneath him? Or at least check the wound?

Regardless, it was still a good episode, mainly because of it's uniqueness and because Cad Bane is there.

The body armor bugged me. a small plate stops a sniper-blaster, but the clone's armor does nothing.*Shakes Head* why even use it then?

I'm baaaaaaack
