Speaking of Rainbow Slugs... Got 4 of them bastards! Two of them in a row! Man, if only I could manage to get a hot day on Makna this playthrough would be going very smoothly.

I got Sword Valley mapped out completely, don't worry.tongue

It's nice how the map autofills when you have every location and Landmark.

P.S.: I thought Radio Tower was third. I have Dolgan Outpost and Enalda Control Base, what am I missing?

[up]Thanks, I found it.grin

M104s are pretty threatening, and then they throw a Unique one at you right after that Quest. I'm not gonna bother with the unique one, the Reinforcement M104 was annoying enough already.

[up] Fuck that one. Fuck it with a rusty shank. I came back with Seven, everyone ten levels higher, and still had too many close calls.

I tackled that one on with Shulk, Riki, and Dunban one level higher than it. At one point the battle became a constant race to fill a third of the chain attack bar to have Riki use You Can Do It on Dundun to save his soon-to-be-blasted butt.

It ended with Shulk and Dunban dazed and in the red, before Heropon jumped into action and beat that house-sized bastard down on his own. Riki can win by himself indeed.

I ended up using Dunban, Riki and Sharla. I only won due to the amazing healing I was getting and chaining up multiple x4 Blossom Dance's.

Planning in getting Chronicles X next year. I don't need to have played any of the previous games to understand the plot do I ?

From the looks of it, it's not tied in any way to the ending of Xenoblade. But knowing the kind of twists the first game pulled, I wouldn't be surprised if a connection did show up eventually, although I highly doubt knowing the plot of the first game will be necessary. Not discussing further.

generally, if a game does not make a connection to a previous one obvious from the start, when it does come to light they will explain, either vaguely in an almost spoiler-free manner, or in a thorough, "whelp, i wasnt going to play it anyway" kinda way. so im guessing no you wont have to play this game even if the next is strongly connected after all.

Unless we find out this game features scientists named Klaus or Meyneth I think it's safe to say there's no connection between them.

Edit:Names are a spoiler? People won't know the meaning behind them unless they already played the game.

[up]SPOILERS! Mark them dude!

Meyneth is definitely a name that people playing through the game (NES Classic) have heard already or will hear (again) soon. That "scientist" detail is quite the spoiler

The names don't have any context yet, but it really is safer just to keep them hidden.

Completed all of Alcamoth's quests. Freaking clocks next to all those quests! Wiki is a must if you aim for 100% Completion-ish, and even then it still has some info missing/wrong.

Be careful if anyone on their first playthrough is using the Xenoblade Wikia to help with quests. I remember some quest pages suddenly dropping Seven's name for when the character comments.

And yet-to-be-seen locations, and future quests, and the change of location of several characters, and an entire flippin' race, and...

Long story short: First-time players, stay the hell away.

Well, Xenoblade X did have that Nopon at the end of the trailer, so there's at least one point in the "games are connected" category.

I wonder how american accented Nopon will sound.

The Nopon didn't really have Brittish accents in the first place, so I hope they just make them sound te same.

Regarding the Nopon presence in X, I have my own crazy theory as to how these games could be connected: As a consequence of the rebuilding of the universe, Earth was also brought back. After the whole mess with the alien war, the humans (and whoever else is with the party) will find the Nopon when they come across the alien planet where the folks of Bionis and Mechonis ended up.

I got four Rainbow Slugs without even trying. Geez, my luck is weird.

Update: Everything about Fallen Arm threw me off starting at the Hidden Machina Village. From an Interface Spoiler I figured there'd be a fifth faction but I didn't expect such kind people... I was also thrown off by the request to kill Egil.

I never said it here, but called it on Gadolt being a Face. At least, I assume that's what it is if the cutscene was any indication... in my book they should have just said "the girl" and left it ambiguous as to who it was referring to. Speaking of Faces, Vangarre/Waluigi is totally going to be one. I'm sure of it.

I still don't have in mind what I want Fiora to be, as far as battle roles go. Maybe a Dunban V2, with high agility and damage output?

Final note, I should check my inventory more often. I was wondering who the Eater art I had a book for belonged to... well, I think the plot's done teaching me Monado Arts directly. I have yet to actually get a kick out of its effects but Monado Eater sounds endlessly promising. Outright destroying buffs, yes please!

The Machina are one of the game's biggest twists as far as I'm concerned. I was hell of a lot surprised to see such a race appear, and in an area I had completely forgotten about nontheless. Also, Mechanical Rhythm!

I see Fiora as a Dunban that benefits from having aggro away from her. Dat Double Blade art.

Regarding Monado arts: Do some questing in there. One leads to another book.

PS: There's a hidden area around. Found it?

[up]Yup. I got the whole place mapped.smile

It took sooooooo long to climb up there, but it was worth it. That's where half my Rainbow Slugs came from. It was also the first time where I truly appreciated the size of the titans, being able to see the size of the Mechonis' mere fingertips and palm.

Just a little warning, you are getting close to the event that makes the Alcamoth quests unavailable, if you haven't done them yet.

I loved playing as Seven in the late game. Unfortunately, you need to use 2 gems for 100% spike damage resist against some enemies, or you are basically suiciding almost instantly due to your attack speed. Speed shift+double strike = fun!
