Swap title with redirect: Peek A Boo

Thank you for reviving this thread. I added a few more reasons to the pro-rename section on the crowner.

It's been three days. Do you think we have a consensus?

Three days is not quick for a crowner. And there isn't really a vote minimum.

Um, yes, three days is quick for a crowner. It's the absolute minimum, but when there's only 17 votes, it pays to wait a little longer.

Okay, I swapped the name and I have started working on the wicks.

In fact, I'm going to call it such.

This was an improper rename. The rename thread died off, it was brought back with a crowner — I would say almost improperly, as it appeared to be a dead discussion — and having been done and buried, discussion wasn't obtained with the new crowner.

This is not a trope that needs renaming. There is no misuse, there is no confusion, there is no odd word usage, it is a very old trope that is very clear and used. I could see a rename if the alt title was 50/50% with the current, but it's not.

In fact, I would like to suggest a different crowner option, which I would have suggested had the crowner been open for more than the absolute minimum: Delete the alt title. It's pointless alt-titling.

You are welcome to vote against it, but the age of a discussion has no direct relevance to the validity of the vote. This one has needed a rename for ages.

Sigh. Am I alone in disliking bland, boring trope names? At least it's better than when Hadaka Apron's name was mangled by 2 bored tropers on a lunch break.

Fighteer, the problem is that the crowner was locked before more than seventeen people voted on it. It was only open for three days; a lot of us just missed it entirely.

I didn't even know this thread was still active. I thought it was settled. In April.

Issues of clarity aside, how is Scenery Censor more bland and boring thank Peek-A-Boo? "Scenery censor" is a pretty vivid phrase you hear very, very rarely, while "peek a boo" is a nonsense phrase mothers say to toddlers about twenty times a day. Does "bland and boring" mean "comprehensible" now?

It's often used to mean "the words basically tell us what the trope is".

^^ It's the other way around: "Comprehensible" gets frequently accused of being "bland and boring".

What still needs to be done so this can be closed?

Discussion needs to be moved. 147 wicks need to be changed. Needs a note on Renamed Tropes linking back to this thread.

Added the note. Don't have time to do all the wicks as I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow. Someone needs to get started on that.
