Then you are a fool. A fool, I say! >:O
But yeah, Science Vessels are I think the only constant I've had when it came to research options. I did some experimenting, but I stayed away from Ravens. Still haven't gotten the hang of casters yet.
I believe I've also never gone for orbital drop barracks units, although I should probably try that at some point. ODST spam sounds like a fun time.
but HOW?One of my favorite moments in Brood War multiplayer involves protecting a siege tank from swarms of zerglings by coating it with both Defensive Matrix and Eradiate. Almost 12 Zerglings melted trying to kill that thing.
I ended up losing that match, but hey. XP

My Life For Aiur!!

I'm actually liking this more humanizing looks into the protoss. It's not often we see a race like this go "Why are we doing this invasion, where thousands of us will die, when we've already lost so many?" and "Our disunity and our thoughts of Can't Argue with Elves haven't worked out."
Dammit, stop making me tear up!
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"This is what irks me about that demo mission with Zeratul: If Kerrigan was willing to spare the Augustgrad population back in Heart of the Swarm, why wasn't she willing to do the same with the imprisoned Protoss the Shadow Crops (Dominion troops working for Amon) were experimenting on?
Cause Starcraft 2 Kerrigan is all over the freaking place
Yeah... I didn't hate Heart of the Swarm anywhere near as much as a lot of people, but there was definitely room for improvement in characterization and that last scene with Mengsk.
'They were being experimented on', that alone was a pretty good reason. Also every Protoss encountered but one was extremely hostile, they would rather die than work with a Zerg.
So seeing how they scaled back pretty much all the macro changes they had made at the start of the beta I gotta say my hype in buying the game is pretty dead. As someone who is not super good at macro and does not have the time or the drive to do so the reversal kills any chance of me playing multiplayer.
The changes were actually really nice and sped up the early game a lot while making macro easier.

They are painfully trying to create a game that will be interesting both for pro players and low level ones, I guess it's difficult.
But I can understand them not wanting to remove even more macro from the game. Each add-on makes micro more important (since there are unique new units while the old ones remain). Plus, the little I have seen from LOTV seems to bring even more micro mechanics to Protoss and Terran gameplay (tank drop, adepts) who both can be influential rather early in the game. If you end up having half your units irrelevant because everything is decided in an early micro battle, the game will not be quite as popular as it is now I suppose.
At the moment, being good at macro is an easy way to climb up to at least "passable." Even if you're not building the right stuff or microing it properly, if you can consistently build more stuff than your opponent, your winrate will improve considerably (or so the Internet told me).
Now, if LOTV changes this, that would be... interesting.
Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity.Random thoughts.
During early days of Star Craft multiplayer, it was practically unchallenged that when Terran goes against Zerg, use bionic and mechanic against Protoss. Then near the end of Brood War era, late mechanic came along and Terran started to use tons of mechanic against Zerg as well.
And NOW, it feels as if it's the other way around. Then again, it's less of it being effective use bionic against Protoss than MMM (with sometimes Widow Mine or Ghost thrown in) is just pretty damn effective in general.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.I'd say it is more of a matter of what kind of gameplay the terran favors. Some heavily lean towards mech (macro players mostly), others favor bio (micro players), and the best usually are somewhere inbetween while still having a default strategy.
Mech became standard against zerg after the SH nerf but once Zerg players learned to master the Viper it became less so, with good macro zergs usually beating the terran by taking all the bases on the map and covering it with creep.

It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesIt's here, ladies and gents. Prepare to Zeratul.
but HOW?What? I thought it didn't come out until November 10th.
The preview missions are out.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Who here's hoping Blizzard will make good on their promise to have Nova appear in Legacy of the Void, as they teased here?
Why would there ever be a suspicion that she would not appear in legacy of the Void...?

Because just played the "Whispers" prologue, and oh shit— is Amon actually Tassadar/Overmind? Because I thought he was a renegade Xel'naga and I wasn't taking it very seriously...but Tassadar merging with the Overmind instead of killing it is definitely a serious threat.

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984No, I highly doubt that.
I played it myself yesterday. Still a bit rusty at Starcraft but I'm excited for November. All the same I really hope the last mission is the Protoss having another crack at Aiur.
I picked Raven :3
