Ran into this confusion on an image picking thread. This isn't merely glancing over the shoulder, which can apply to several poses, but a specific pose where looking over the shoulder is just one aspect. Since other related poses involving looking over the shoulder, the name here should be more indicative. Not sure the redirect would make a better name though.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

  1. Always Female Fanservice
  2. curved back + twisted torso + over-the-shoulder glance at the viewer

Is what defines this trope. "Tits And Ass Pose" could be a handful of other poses that highlight both the bottom ad top departments so I'd like something more specific.

Bringing some ammo to the conversation.

I too agree the trope's name is way too broad. Check out all the following pics: all of them are of characters looking towards the viewer over their shoulders, but none of them with the tits and ass requirement, and with all of them conveying a different feeling compared to each other:

I'd say 5,6 and very slightly possibly 2, DO fit the trope as named but I agree that there are a lot of other interesting tropes that involve over the shoulder posing. But this (and maybe the forlorn over-the-shoulder-pose) is probably the most common so the name itself isn't a hug problem (apart from being a little boring).

The alternative (apart from also being a little plaid) is a better descriptor and would leave the over-the-shoulder area free

On a sidenote, I think the "tits and ass" redirect falls afoul of the rule on gratuitous profanity. (Not that the words in question are strong profanity, but still.)

[up][up] I'm not sure I like the word "treat" for some reason, but "double-(something) rear view" has potential.

Well, the important bits of this trope are that it's an "Over the shoulder pose that shows of the chest and the rear." The tits and ass redirects are the closest to what people actually tend to refer to it as.

There's also a terribly-named, little known trope called Murdering Over My Shoulder (with its own TRS thread here), which is about a murderer/monster/zombie/whatever getting interrupted while killing someone and looking up over their shoulder. Is there a supertrope of some sort for this gesture in general?

[up] That trope isn't really related to this. This is a pin-up pose.

[up]Ha, true.

Seriously, I think the redirect should be the actual title. I suppose it could still be confused for another pose, although I can't think of any. Tits And Ass Pose is the clearest option without going to the lengths of my joke suggestion. I know some people might find it a tad crass, but it's certainly no worse than Anal Probing or the like.

I heard it as "teeth, tits, and toes," but that works too, I suppose.

There are other tits and ass poses. Here's one on a bikini model. It has her twisting the other way around, but it's not this trope.

Mm. I'm not sure. Is there a proper name for this in the fashion word?

Yes: Over-the-Shoulder Pose.

(The "problem" is that you could describe other poses that way. You may deduce by the scare quotes that I don't think that's actually a problem.)
