Correction: It was both, really. Everybody's love for The Boss (and, depending on MPO, Ocelot's love for Big Boss) set the stage for the PATRIOTS, but it was everyone's crush for Big Boss that sent everything to Hell when he got tired of Zero's shit.

It's also worth noting from Paz's tapes that Big Boss and Kaz got in a naked fist fight in the shower because Big Boss didn't like how he was two timing some girl.

That's probably part of the problem with the industry.

Ground Zeroes definitely has all of Paz's tapes.

But for some reason, not the secret tape.

Also, Peace Walker was part of the HD Collection.

Of course bisexual people can have heterosexual relationships.

The issue of Big Boss's sexuality isn't half as important as everyone's making it seem, sans anything I haven't seen in Ground Zeroes. It's all humor and non-canon, that for some reason is being over-analyzed as an element of Kojima's storytelling. 'Not that there's anything wrong with it being canon.'

It would be, infact, part of the very definition!

We don't know a lot about Big Boss' childhood, but chances are he had a pretty fucked up childhood. The way he talks to EVA, he doesn't seem to think of sex anymore than anything else. If anything, I'd say he's asexual, except he clearly enjoys the act and understands it's purpose in relationships (he fucks EVA, Kaz, and Paz, all important allies). He probably just does it with whoever's on his side and wants to.

In other news, hacking Peace Walker reveals that it's haunted.

Because I already made this sweet ass Avatar and I don't want to be dissapointed.

I love that Kojima has apparently recruited ghosts to serve as an anti-hacking feature.

Hopefully the ghosts have better spelling in The Phantom Pain.

I hope that all the songs from the trailers are available in The Phantom Pain from the start.

I still haven't figured out how to do it in Ground Zeroes

All of Dark Souls 1, 2 and Demon's Souls soundtrack showed up for use for me since I had them on my PS 3.

I wish that my Metal Gear Solid 4 save file counted. Got a lot of tracks for the I Pod. Even downloaded some from the thingy.

Wait a sec... the medic jumped in front of Big Boss to protect him from the explosion. Until it is officially jossed, the medic is Ishmael. They even have the same VA for crying out loud!

I gotta say, I love literally everything I saw in that gameplay video.

It could also be the ashes of all the dead soldiers, mixed into one jar, or just some random dude whom Big Boss decided to use as an example of what to expect in the future for his men. Or maybe it's Paz, but that's kinda doubtful since she was blown into tiny little pieces and all that.

It's actually the ashes of his old cigars. He wanted to feel the tobacco one last time before switching to electronic.

Did anyone else catch the description of his cigar?

I kinda wonder how that horn comes out. I mean, it's not there in the MSX 2 games. Or MGS 4.

that might be the exact reason why they won't pull it out: they'd risk further brain damage if they did and decided on leaving it there... Until somebody skilled enough comes along to remove it.

BTW, that article you linked mentioned that the brain's emotional centers mostly lie within the frontal lobe. Might not be far-fetched to say that either the existence or removal of the shrapnel ends up being part of the reason why BB starts going bonkers in the first two Metal Gear games.

they could just cut off the part that's sticking out and leave the rest there, kinda like how some soldiers still have bullets in them.

After the Japanese version of Peace Walker's ridiculous◊ amount◊ of product placement, I'm interested to see if Phantom Pain will incorporate anything similar.
