Wait, what? You're using Dos Box and having resolution issues (while possible, it is highly improbable)? Have you configured it properly? Aspect ratio correction, not playing in full screen on a widescreen monitor, that kind of thing?
Can I ask for the Dosbox version?

Videogames do not make you a worse person... Than you already are.Version 0.73.
I'm not using a widescreen monitor, and I haven't configured Dosbox or anything.
Well, you should have. It's very finicky if not tweaked with a personal touch. Find the file dosbox.conf in the installation folder of Dos Box and start a-tweaking. All of the parameters are commented in most releases so you can experiment on your own (hint - raise the output rate of the sound emulation to 44100 or 48000 for all but MT-32, it's worth it), but first and foremost, you need to find the aspect ratio correction and enable it if it's off.

So I'm near the beginning of the game at Stonekeep, and I'm on an island with a key on the floor. However, I cannot pick up the key because the screen resolution is stretched in a way that causes the mouse to move me backwards when I place it over the key, and I can't get close enough to the key to get it without getting that prompt. I've tried setting the compatibility settings to 640 X 480, but to no avail. Any help?
I'm using Dosbox on Windows 7.
