Couldn't find the other thread. Anyway, this thread is for the Upcoming Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon.

It has been confirmed that J.K. Simmons will voicing J.Jonah Jameson(A role he previously had in the films). That is awesome.

I sense this show might gain some ire long before it's first episode.

Read the comic up to #121. It has its ups and downs. Sometimes it can be kinda eh, but overall it's pretty good. People are just mad because it's different.

OMGZORZWTF! This version of Peter is two millimeters shorter than he is in the 616 comics! RUINED FOREVER! MY CHILDHOOD IS BEING RAPED! OTHER EXCLAMATIONS OF OUTRAGE!

I kinda liked it, but I only read the volume where Peter got the black suit and fought Venom.

What were some of the problems and why did people hate it?

People hate Ultimate Marvel in general... for... I really don't know. Ultimatum I suppose.

^^

There is a misunderstanding here. Its not that Ultimate Spiderman is hated or anything, it is that the popular series The Spectacular Spider-Man was canceled to make place for this one.

The Spectacular Spider Man was ended due to copyright problems. Marvel decided to not reboot the series from the third season on, and so they began making their own Spider Man tv show: This one.

I hope this show is as good as the previous series.

Man, I cannot wait for this, Ultimate Spider-man was an awesome comic until a few issues before Ultimatum and Ultimatum itself.

@Known Unknown

Actually no slick, people have already mellowed out and most to be willing to give it a chance. Especially, with the excellent creative team this show has(Which is why most are giving it a chance). Having Paul Dini and Man of Action and all that.

@e X

No, Spectacular ended because of copyright issues. You know, the whole thing of Spectacular being a show produced by Sony and Sony losing the licensing rights. So no, it had nothing to do with the new show.

@ 3 of 4

You really believe that? Don't take story titles so literally.

@Mousa

Actually, it's still a good book.

What I wonder is if it'll have any connection at all to the current Avengers series in an attempt to make some sort of Marvel equivalent of the DCAU.

Well, they were going to do it with the last X-men show.

Still, it's probably going to be in it's own continuity.
