It's a shake sold by McDonald's to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Unfortunately, it is not a shake entirely comprised of shamrocks. D:

People say it's a unique flavor, but I'm convinced it's just mint syrup mixed into a vanilla shake base.

Still really good. Kinda makes me want to go to Dairy Queen more often outside of the Shamrock Shake season and get mint blizzards.

It tastes like toothpaste to me. Perhaps because that's the "mintiest" thing I am in contact with frequently.

Yeah, I once had Jelly Belly's knockoff of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans where they have each color assigned to a "good" flavor and a "nasty" flavor. The blue semi-translucent bad ones were "toothpaste" flavored, which means they were strong cool mint, which I might have enjoyed if the box hadn't suggested to me that it was toothpaste.
