On a legal plan, the French term for killing him would be "violences volontaires ayant entrainé la mort sans intention de la donner" (voluntary harm having caused death without intent to inflict it) (plus self-defense), but I don't know where exactly it would fit in US manslaughter law.

Depending on state, it would likely be self defense.

So it probably falls under Section 1.1c of the Goodo, Mate, That Filthy Bogan Needed A Good Kicking statutes.

EDIT: Wait, it occurs to me that Bogan might be racist and not just a funny word. Australian input?

He's (The big one) lucky that there's taped evidence that he was provoked, over the top retaliation or not.

That and the fact that anyone with a brain will think twice before screwing with him.

In fact, this should be an example to all bullies of what could happen if they mess with the wrong person. A bad example depending on how you look at it, but an example nonetheless.

It's far more likely however to teach them not to leave any evidence that works against them.

I'm not saying that bully didn't deserve it for picking on him, because he totally did, but whatever happened to...Oh, I don't know...walking away? Telling someone of authority? It's not worth it to piledrive him into the ground and get suspended.

The bully brought some friends and a recording device. If Casey hadn't scared the others with that piledrive, I doubt they would have let him walk.

And as numerous personal stories attest, authorities either cannot or will not do much at all, usually.

Bogan is not a racial insult, it's just our local word for white trash, like how the English have "chav".

I find it unlikely that criminal charges would be involved, considering that the bully's mother has gone on Today Tonight and said the little shit got what was coming to him.

Personally, one thing I find refreshing about the incident is that nobody's carried on with the whole "Casey is a bully because he is twice the other kid's size" nonsense.

As a Big Guy, I am glad to see there is some end to the amount of sanction that society is willing to grant ill mannered little twerps just because they're runty motherfuckers.

Most of the cultured, sensible Australians turn our noses up at them. Heck, most of them are proud to be called as such. I can't tell why; they have horrible choice of clothing and transport.

Ugh, so much this.

I am not good at fighting, so on the rare occasion when some tiny little asshole built like a safe attacks me and I manage to win, I would appreciate not being attacked by every bloody bystander who's decided to be a champion of the little guy.

They're not the underdog here, the guy who gets his head slammed against the pavement on average once every six months is the underdog.

Well that's refreshing. I thought I'd read somewhere that the parents were trying to sue Casey and the school.

Thank you Australia. If this fight happened in america, Casey would have been expelled forever for the use of violence, especially for breaking that obnoxious little gnat's ankle.

And as numerous personal stories attest, authorities either cannot or will not do much at all, usually.

He couldn't have walked 10-15 seconds to a teacher's classroom or the office to tell an adult? I find that very hard to believe.

And as for authorities not doing anything, that's just sad. Kid says something, no one does anything about it, and then we have stories in the news about kids committing suicide because of the incessant bullying.

Or shooting somebody. Once again, it's good this was on tape. It gave the kid proof of self defence.

Although this may lead to lots of kids who watch You Tube trying to pull the same stunt on bullies. Not sure what to say about that.

[up] This, especially considering that they had at least 3 people on the bully side (Limpy Mc Smallfry, the big kid that walked on frame, and the camera man). Possibly 4 if the disembodied voice we heard didn't belong to the camera man.

The kid was outnumbered, and things had already gotten physical. Walking to a teacher's office was not really an option.

Dude, were you born yesterday. As if his tormentors are going to go "Oh blast! He is walking away to inform a teacher, we had not anticipated this. CURSES, FOILED AGAIN!"

Cutting off escape routes is an elementary tactic if you're planning on harassing someone.

And the three or so girls that walked past this kid couldn't have done anything?

And the kid couldn't have just ran down the hallway to get someone?

And yes, I understand the "elementary tactics" of harrassing someone. I've been on the receiving end of them. The point is to attempt.

Attempt to walk away. If they cut you off, then do something.

Of course, it's easy for me to say this since there was really no attempt of the guy to walk away. Or maybe he tried to before the start of the video. I don't know. All I see is about 15 seconds of getting pissed off and then a piledriver.
