There is a demo?
Steam does not indicate this.
I didn't get it from STEAM (STEAM sucks, sorry): http://www.bit-blot.com/aquaria/demo.html
Wow. That was rude. Thumped.
Where did I present it as fact? You have been on the Internet long enough to know that you DON'T have to type an IMO after everything. Not cool, man.
Anyway, can anybody who actually bought this tell me if the game gets more actiony as time goes on? Thanks.

SO has anybody bought this game and beat it or at least got pretty far in it?

It definitely picks up in terms of action.
Good. I was farid of it being a more explorey game. Not that those are bad, just not my favorite type of game.
I think I will buy it now. Thanks again! :3
It is very explorey, but there is more action as you continue. There are boss fights, for instance.
I'm cool as long as the balance is decent. And even if it was all explorey (exploratory? I've never been good with words) I'd still buy it anyway, the story is awesome. Just wanted to see what I'm getting myself into. Thanks!
I have played through it several times, (and recently worked on the page). The page is quite an accurate description. The balance is set for fairly naive players, so hardcore types will find it fairly easy game-wise, except for some tricky bosses. As I noted on the page, healing is plentiful — indeed, the recipe system can easily be abused. Of course, that only gets you so far — you still need to figure out how to beat the bosses. The big draw is the Scenery Porn and the music, which are both hypnotic. The plot is fairly simple, though marred with a Relationship Tumor. It is somewhat "explore-y", but that feeds into the Scenery Porn, and one thing it doesn't have is pixel-hunting. Remember that you can use songs and change forms with the number keys — without that, the game *is* "Nintendo Hard", in a bad way! Also, the number keys let you switch between any two forms at will, while the "song" interface forces you to change back to Song form before switching to another form. Even with the number keys, you can only use the Shield and "lifting" songs in Song mode.
I'm also having some problems with the page itself, but I'm going to start a new topic under Tropes for those issues.

Bump because I can, and this seems as good a place as any to talk about the game.
So yeah. I finally beat the game today. I had left it for a while after getting stuck on the last boss, but went back over the past couple of days with a plan of what to do... which was mostly to gather ingredients for whatever I might want to cook up mid-battle (Because weirdly, that's a thing. You can't change clothes mid-battle (not easily, anyway), but you can cook anything you have room for).
That said, I was just wondering who else had beaten the game, and what you thought of it all.
Yes, I did. Twice. It's awesome.
The demo had great graphics and sound and an AMAZINGLY compelling story, but the gameplay was kinda slow. Does it pick up later on?
