Don't worry, that's the only time you'll ever run into that situation in the game. Up next should be the Big Boner gun sequence in the demon red light district, and that's an ... interesting part of the game, to say the least.

The second chapter is about as slow and routine as it gets, and even then it's not that it sucks or anything... aside from that one chase scene, of course. It's just rather average and predictable in comparison to the rest of the game, until you reach the bossfight.

You're probably going to be going against the final grim reaper sister very soon. Word of advice: her biggest weakspot only appears after you shoot her with a lightshot while covered in darkness. It's more risky, especially since you'll have to deal with the demons being invunerable during that time, but it's MUCH quicker that way. Otherwise you'll only be able to target her head, and you're gonna be there forever hammering away at her Hitpoints if you take that approach.
