^^The trope has NOTHING to do with humor, a special note to whoever just made this a redirect.

For what?
What did he do wrong?
It ain't broke.
No one said that, its just good for something named after a work to have redirects explaining what it means.
I like Buried By Imitators, that seems to carry over the meaning of the name.
That's a pretty clever name, but are we sure it means the same thing?
Rhymes with "Protracted."Unrelated to the name discussion, but who went and put the examples in some of the folders (e.g. Film and Literature) in alphabetical order? Is this even allowed?
It's not a big issue, but it makes it hard to find examples that have been added since last time you read the page, in case you want to see them.
Also, you kind of want to know whether this formatting is sanctioned by the admins before you add a new example: should you add it in its alphabetical place, or just stick it at the end as per usual?
Off-topic, but the general rule is that examples are organized within sections/folders by the order in which they're added, but if someone does alphabetize them, it's not worth the effort to put it back, but new examples nonetheless go at the bottom of the appropriate section/folder
The child is father to the man —OedipusMakes sense. Thank you!
Okay, more name brainstorming. I, too, like Buried By Imitators, which has the advantage of being succinct, but its meaning does seem a bit different than the trope as currently described. Perhaps:
Lost In The Imitators (from the [current] last line of the trope page overview)
Dulled Cutting Edge (or Cutting Edge Dulled)
Cutting Edge Dulled By Imitators
Originality Drain (/ -ed)
Not Derivative But The Original
Hmm. That's all that comes to mind for now.

First off, this is impossible to rename because it has brought 15,726 people to the wiki from non-search engine links since 20th FEB '09. Someone added Seinfeld Is Cliche, but it still has Seinfeld in the name. Ideas?
