General Sonic The Hedgehog thread

It'd be nice to have a Dungeon Keeper-esque game where you play as the Doctor and have to build up underground bases while capturing GUN agents sent to defeat you.

God I miss Bristow. No offense to Pollock, I think he does a fantastic job at Robotnik too. But Dean Bistrow was just as great. Both of them know how to make the Robotnik sound really threatening and badass. Though Pollock has the benefit of making Robotnik be very humorous.

Also, on the topic of Generations, I kinda feel like the game started to lose me around the last third of the game with the Modern Sonic Game worlds(Though the beach level from Hero's wasn't too enjoyable for me either. At least after that level was the pretty awesome Perfect Chaos boss). Crisis City was bullshit, Rooftop Run was forgettable, and Planet Wisp can go fuck itself. As for the last two bosses, don't remember much about Egg Dragoon, but I found Time Eater to be a crappy final boss.

Though that shows just how forgettable that level is to me. I can't even remember what it was actually called.

He's been one for a while, unfortunately. And it's gotten old. Really old. -_-

I honestly forgot when Knuckles wasn't a meme. He's been one for atleast a decade if not more....

I can at least appreciate this meme more than I could "Find the computer room" which was annoying the minute I heard it.

I thought the Knuckles meme was kinda funny at first, but it got rammed too hard into the ground. Same deal with Sanic and jokes about going too fast.

Unfortunately that's the life of memes in general. They start out as an inside joke, get spread around, and then get beaten down into the dirt. When mainstream media starts using memes then you pretty much know that the meme is dead at that point.

This why people groan and get annoyed really fast when a older meme pops up in mainstream media.

Probably because the other half are hilarious zingers.

Sonic has left us it's greatisms! Pingas, Dimps levels, and Jump Pads!

Eh... That's That's pretty subjective. The account lost it's novelty on me early on.

My guesses are either because the Sonic twitter isn't afraid to take potshots at the franchise (which, let's be real, non-Sonic fans eat up), or because many Sonic fans are teenagers.

You say that like the fans don't take potshots either.

Yes, but the fanbase is almost entirely cynical. Self-Deprecating Humor is much funnier.

Much like memes and other kinds of humor, it gets old after a while.

Well it's not like the games sooth the fans. You have your widely praised Generations, nd then you get mixed thoughts on Lost World.

The problem is that it's incredibly easy for someone to miss a meme when it spreads around, then encounter it when everyone else is tired of it, repeat the meme, and be informed that the joke is not funny. It must be annoying to have that happen.

The Sonic twitter takes joking potshots at the franchise and it's fanbase all the time. The twitter account seems to love making fun of the memes themselves moreso then anything else.
