[up] Er, I don't see how the Boov are similar to the Minions.

I thought Home was okay, but it obviously doesn't hold a candle to some of Dreamworks other movies.

Well, if they want to go in a more kid-friendly direction, that's what they're going to be doing. I know a lot of people aren't going to like it.

I just want them to utterly STOP with the plastic-textured, pastel-colored, cutesy skin on their characters already.

[up][up]Everything about Boov's, and his species', design came off as a transparent attempt to create their new cash cow mascot.

[up] I can see why you would feel that way, but I don't really think that's the case. I would think that were the case if toys or other kid-friendly items relating to the Boov were advertised a lot, but I haven't seen or heard much about them since the movie came out.

If I'm wrong about this, then feel free to correct me.

Behold...

This is...Voltron: Legendary Defender.

(I actually like how the subtitle is a nod to how Voltron is known as the "Defender of the Universe".)

My favorite DW films are the Madagascar trilogy and the KFP films.

The first couple of Shreks are ok, but the others are pretty "meh". I haven't watched too many DW films lately, as they are starting to feel too much like Pixar films, which I am not a fan of.

[up] What do you find wrong with Pixar films, if I may ask?

Too tired for this.

Nothing really, they just are not my kinds of movie. I am not the kind of person who is for the "hits you right in the feels" or "leaves you feeling warm and snuggly inside" movie, if that makes any sense.

Why does Comcast want Dreamworks?

Is this good or bad? I've heard a lot of people saying Comcast is like an evil corporation or something.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?

Every corporation is considered evil at some point even when it's usually not.

I've heard Comcast get shit mostly as part of a general complaint about internet companies in the US and the bullshit caps they impose. I have to say I have NO idea what Comcast wants with Dreamworks of all things.

Yeah I'm not really into the idea either. My only experience with Comcast is television and honestly I hated the way they format certain things.

I think some of it might be their internet stuff, but I'm not certain. I just remember a joke from a video by Last Angry Geek where it had a flash forward to the "future" and Nash said that Comcast had gotten rid of net neutrality, so I took it as a jab at them being an "evil corporation" or something.

For those matters, what's going on between Dreamworks and FOX? Why would they leave them?

Television. See that's interesting because in that sense, the deal COULD make more sense than we think. Katzenberg goes on record saying that movies are no longer Dreamworks' main product, and that television is now their most profitable platform instead.

Depends on the type of television they're interested in doing with Dreamworks. They're mostly known for animated movies so is that direction they want? I'd be all for that since I like cartoons, although I'm not sure I want to be bombarded with more CGI animated shows unless they look as good as Zagtoons stuff.

If this deal goes through, I hope it doesn't put the kibosh on some of their projects. Like, if Comcast doesn't want them having shows on Netflix and they can Dragons Race To The Edge or something.

Well that's it.

Jeffery Katzenberg is stepping down to retirement.

His entertaining reign is over.
