And hopefully they'll put in more planets and space battles.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Then they announce Rey and Finn are unplayable because female/black character models are too much work.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!On the one hand, all this Debbie Downerism isn't going to help us get a real Battlefront game. On the other, it's EA. Even if they gave us a real one, they'd probably stick it on Origin or fuck it up somehow.
Krennic is not the sort of person I would peg as the type to get his hands dirty.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.When Vader is pulling the strings you do what you have to to stay alive.
"season pass"? Please tell me that's for dlc, and not just to play the damned game
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youSadly, yes. The base game alone honestly isn't worth the purchase, either.
They need to make the game mod-friendly or something.
The original Battlefront series had an overhaul mod called Rising Son and it was amazing.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youNever gonna happen. Not only does EA virtually never approve mods for their titles anymore, but DICE themselves may be against it due to the concerns of mods allowing hackers backdoor access to the multiplayer segment and ruining the fun for everybody.
EA's the same company that shut down the fan-made, non-profit Battlefront 3 game that was using the original cancelled version's code because they were scared more people would play it than the actual Battlefront now.

That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Just to play devil's advocate here: When you're a corporation, you don't get to pick and choose what copyright violations you take legal action against. Either you go after all of them that you become aware of, or you pretty much sacrifice the copyright.
Grand unveiling coming on the 15th.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Hopefully it's noticeably better than the first game.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.They keep promising "the game we should've released last time." I'm skeptical though. As much as I'm really, really on "Star Wars game withdrawal" right now, I probably won't preorder this one.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I... honestly can't justify pre-rodering any game these days, let alone a game that was already divisive before launch.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Is it going to have a Steam option, at least? That's the only reason I don't have the first one rn.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youI'm venturing a guess that DICE is going to replicate what Battlefront was attempting with the simultaneous planetary and orbital battles. No Man's Sky has essentially shown how it'll probably be executed anyways with how the orbital exit/re-entry worked, so I can't think of them making an excuse this time. Doubly so, since it's what the playerbase themselves have wanted.
Don't hold your breath on anything coming to Steam. Virtually every Triple-A title released by EA, especially those that heavily rely upon multiplayer aspects, have been exclusive to EA Origin. I highly doubt the next Battlefront will buck the trend, especially since even Respawn haven't been able to host Titanfall 2 on any other virtual distributors.

Given what they did with Battlefield One[1] after launch, don't hold your breath.
[1]: Since launch they introduced magical reappearing/respawning infinite grenades for soldiers, added tons of bugs that shouldn't have been there or weren't there, screwed the balance over to appease infantry farmers in planes, made sniping and playing Assault class too easy and continue to ignore even the most basic of missing functionality like having Operations mode in the server browser. And they're looking over an idea called Ammo 2.0 which in a nutshell gimps your starting capacity to near nothing and forcing you to hunt for (near-nonexistent) Support players to give you ammo just to not suck after spawn.
Rumor has it as a result the playerbase has collapsed so fast that they're trying to address that but I think the damage might be done. The first DLC has really low player counts compared to launch.

Here's the answer to that: Don't pick and choose violations. Just don't prosecute mods to start with. Open yourself up to them, watch how the players pick which ones they play, and use that as your basis for improving the next installment. That's, like, the entire reason Bethesda can still make games. They use mods to gauge their audience's wants, and the next game in the franchise generally incorporates the best of the batch of last game's mods. Bonus: pick the best modding teams and bankroll their projects. Get boosted versions of those mods produced as official DLC, and start rolling in cash as your fanbase explodes with joy.
But, no, this is EA we're talking about. "We're right, you're wrong. Sit down, shut the fuck up, and buy every piece of crap we shovel into your mouth like a god damned toilet already." What a fucking waste of a company.
Rhen Var our we Riot
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!Damn I miss that map. At least I installed BF 2 on my latest computer and can play that again. Even if Rhen Var's not in Conquest mode.
Do you guys think Battlefront: Again is going to have some sort of "if you had the first game" bonus? I played it extensively on other people's systems and exactly a big fan, but I never actually owned it myself. But hey... it's on sale, and I suppose I could do worse for a game to tide over my massive Star Wars game withdrawal.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Eh, I dunno. I'd imagine it'd have a lot of the same maps, along with a lot of other ones added on. Not sure though.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.
Considering the complaints and that the game coming out did little to actually assuage them, I'd say that's a good thing.
Here's hoping the sequel is more like Battle FRONT and not Battle FIELD.
