Anybody play this game? I first learned of it in Nintendo Power aaaages ago (it was the one with Spider-man 64 on the cover, and also had a guide for Robopon), but couldn't find a copy until recently. I managed to beat it once before the finicky save file died on me :(

I got some of my Internet friends in it—apparently it was big in Europe, as my friend's classmate and professor both played it and agreed it was Nintendo Hard.

Capcom should give THIS game a remake >: D

My only contact with the franchise was getting my parents to buy me one of the virtual pets back when there was a Digimon VP craze over in my country. Unfortunately I didn't know enough Japanese to make use of it properly.

Yeah. In addition to the Digimon raising and battling functions, they also had a mini-RPG mode where your bot could 'walk' around in real time to develop. However, form changes were related to the battling function and I was the only kid in the area who had one of those things, so...

Digimons were everywhere, though, especially the Pendulum models.

Linking the Google Image Search page since I don't dare to actually visit the source website of any of the pictures.

The medallion-like thing in the top-left image. There's a closeup in some of the other pics.

I don't recommend getting one today, however. Unlike the Digimon pets that had forms you could access without battling, actually connecting with other users seems to be mandatory for this device.

I actually liked it a bit better than my old Ver.1 Digimon pet because it was almost twice as hefty, but I soon got frustrated when it refused to actually do anything interesting (relative to my Digimon, at least).

I've played this after I saw it on Dove's (I think it was Dove anyway) troper page. I've played it, but didn't really get into it THAT much. The encounter rate was kinda high. I liked what I saw though, and I think I didn't really get to the interesting parts, so maybe I'll pick it up again later.

Stargate SG-1 Let's Watch. Because my ZHP thing failed.

[up] ^^ I made the trope page for it! I definitely noted the high encounter rate...

hey, aforementioned friend here. I had no idea the virtual pet thing existed (although I recall having about four of the digimon ones: two of the first ones (one blue, one orange), one of the second (possibly red), and the digidex one.

I had no idea there was something similar for metal walker, although I kinda wish I had one.

I'm in the process of thoroughly exploring the game, and finding as much stuff in it as possible (mostly the bizzare and obscure, for example using skullia on B. panther). lalalei2001 is doing much the same thing in places (I believe it was her that found the alternative use for metamorit).

[up] Yep. Accidentally used it on the field and discovered it was a Repel.
