I guess it's all about exposure. Justin Bieber is, at the moment, the only noteworthy "late-bloomer" I can think of who has a record deal and has his songs played on the radio.
There will be others, obviously. This year's X Factor competition had a group that Simon Cowell quite literally put together in the lobby who are essentially five Justin Biebers (big exaggeration, I'll concede, because I haven't heard them sing. My sister, who enjoys the programme, informs me that they're basically "the Bieber Boys" or something like that).
OH GOD THEY'RE BREEDING
D:
Justin Bieber is not a "late bloomer", just because he has a high singing voice. He speaks with a pretty normal voice. I guess it's the fact that he's got the androgynous face that people say these kinds of things.
But yeah, I agree that he's pretty much just a passing phase. I'm not a fan of him too much, even if I admit that I find a couple of his songs catchy.
But I accept the possibility that he really doesn't like what he does, and does have talent. Maybe he understands that he will get old fast, so he's trying to make as much money as possible before he stops looking young and cute enough, or loses the high singing voice, or people just stop caring. I'd probably do the same thing in his situation.
As for anyone complaining about his voice...have you ever heard Michael Jackson sing before?
Although Michael Jackson did garner a particularly fierce Hate Dumb ever since the whole child molestation farce...

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."But he still had an incredibly huge following that will never die. If Michael was still alive, I think he would like Justin...as a performer.
But I'm only making the comparison because Michael's voice is just as, if not more feminine than Bieber.
Of course, the similarities end there...unless Bieber is secretly black.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."I can't bring myself to hate Justin-I'm watching him on Valentine's Day's ep. of Conan, and he's actually kinda fun.
Can't stand his music though.
I may have found the first legitimate reason in the world to dislike Justin Bieber. He believes that everything happens for a reason, including rape.
Anime geemu wo shinasai!Korea is a political party now? Hell, it's gotta beat the ones we've got at the moment.
Meh, the kid's still just a kid. Don't expect him to have a complex understanding of the world that realizes "everything happens for a reason" is retarded.
Lots of people believe stupider stuff.
Because it's the funniest thing I've seen this year◊.
Actual scan from my newspaper's front page.
Don't you try anything, you baked good you.I don't see what's problematic with the statement that things happen for a reason, most things do. I do have a problem with people thinking that the reason for an occurrence is positive.
There's no justice in the world and there never was~Geez, tough room.
I'd have though "Bustin Jieber" would have been at least good for a grin or two...
Don't you try anything, you baked good you.You sadden me, Reeders. You sadden me.

Yeah, so he's an idiot. It's not like he claimed his opinions were brilliant. Honestly, this is the fault of the people who set all this up.
Except for 4/1/2011. That day lingers in my memory like...metaphor here...I should go.Asking a 16 year old a question like that is just asking for stupid responses. Even more so, one who's pumped up on fame.

Yeah. Anyone expecting him to have deep insight, or the courage to come out with it and ruin his career — they're the idiots.
The thing that bothers me about Bieber-hate is the degree to which it appears to be based on a very homophobic hatred of the effeminate-looking and -sounding male. That disturbs me a lot.
A brighter future for a darker age. Most of the haters seem to be twelve year olds whose sole justification for hating his music is "IT'S NOT RAWK!!!11!!1!one"
How old is he? Sixteen? Jeesh, I hate his parents for not giving him a normal childhood. If they had then maybe he'd have spent more time at school and learned where and what Germany & Korea is!
Seriously, don't hate these kids, it's the parents, PR reps and the agents that are responsible for the crappy little teen stars. I feel sorry for them for never knowing what a normal life is outside of the media. It's not healthy for them :(
"There's more evil in the charts then an al-Qaida suggestion box."His mother raised him on her own, as far as I know.
^^ I'll feel sorry for the twerp when he stops being richer then I'll ever be.
I wouldn't say he's that rich; recording artists don't usually get that big a cut of album sales.
Though there is the live touring aspect...
You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat! While his comment on abortion, especially the rapey kind is indeed questionable, but all the crap before that, this is the reason why I can't stand Hate Dumb of any kind...
Look at the writer's comment on Bieber's stance on Canadian healthcare...
This is even worse than what a 12 year old would come up with to make himself look cool.
He's not that handsome, he's not that great of a singer, etc., but damn, comments like these makes me want to side with people I don't even know or care about.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."@Lady Justice Who decides what a normal life is and what isn't?
There's no justice in the world and there never was~
I pretty much agree with whatever has been said. This has been an interesting debate. My question is, why do people seem to think that because Bieber is a "late bloomer"(for lack of a better term) that that just makes him annoying? I know a lot of people who kind of are like him, in that they are short, have high-pitched voices and look kind of girly. But nobody hates them.
