This game sound interesting.
I first played SS 2, then played 1.
I am of the very few than actually liked 2 more than 1...
But I also heard this game is more like SS 1, so yeah.
Also, it is like SS 2, where at the beggining of it the game was rather dull, but gradually got better as the levels progressed and by the end it was awesome?
"That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death itself may die."I never could get into Serious Sam 2. I liked some of the enemies (like the orc units, even if they could've been stronger, the giant spiders, and fatso fighters) and bosses, but the guns looked and felt too much like toys and the action just didn't feel satisfying.
Yes, it is very much like that. In the first few levels you're killing Gnaars and weak Cloned Soldiers with a sledgehammer and pump action shotgun. By the final level, your demolishing hordes of hundreds of giant spiders and kleers with a minigun / assault rifle, and dispatching over a dozen Khnums and Scrapjacks at a time with the Devastator and Cannon.
Is anyone else hoping for DLC?
They release DLC for the Second Encounter instead. Huh. Disappointing.
...
Well, yeah, like I said, it gets intense at times. There will sometimes be sequences like in the old games where you get hordes of monsters rushing towards you. I think every other level has a boss fight in it.
Hell, when you beat the first boss, the Arachnid, they throw him at you a few more times later on.
As for being a parody, I guess the military elements (such the cutscene where Sam's chopper gets shot down) are supposed to be a bit satirical.
