Jonah FalconJET SET! JET SET! J! S! R! Groovy! JET SET RADIO~!
You mean THIS?
This is my second favorite:
M Bison: YES!
EVERYBODY LISTEN TO THE MUSIC
Anyone else reminded of SA 2's City Escape by this song? It seemed like it would've been perfect for an Act 2 or something.

Hey! A thread about Jet Grind Radio! Awesome! Dreamcast forever!
On a more serious note, YES. This series needs a new game something awful. I just wish that proposal for the Wii game had went through. The artwork looked rather interesting and I wanted to see how well it translated to 3D.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireMmm...
And "Reality" is unveiled. What did it want...? What did it see...? What did it hear...? What did it think...? What did it do...?I said it before and I'll say it again and again and again and again
If they make a new JSR I'd rather it not be wii exclusive. Think about the online features they can add though, and how cool would it be to able to upload your custom graffiti and download others from online? And death ball or 6 way taggers tag matches awwww yeah.

I'm honestly curious why Sega is just sitting on this series. I mean, the games were absolutely great (discounting that... thing on the Advance). Why not make another? They'd sell.
Also, if they do make another game, I would like the game to look as good as it sounds. Not in graphics per-ce, but in style. A game like this could easily pull off a heavily stylized look without suffering for it.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireMusic licensing, for one. That's a problem.
Jonah FalconI'm probably just labeling myself as an absolute idiot, but most games seem to do okay with getting music. I mean, JSR has to get more music with a very specific sound, but it can't be that much harder. Can it?
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireDepends on the scope of the game. See: Crazy Taxi - it lost all the original music.
Jonah FalconIn the worst case scenario, they could just ship the game with Hideki Naganuma's tracks (which are impressive in and of themselves). But yeah, it would be pretty depressing to not be able to hear the licensed half of the soundtrack...
And "Reality" is unveiled. What did it want...? What did it see...? What did it hear...? What did it think...? What did it do...?Oh...
Well then, I could live without some of the music. Just put in or make new music to replace it.
On an unrelated note: UNDERTSAND, UNDERTSAND, UNDERTSAND, UNDERTSAND, UNDERTSAND, UNDERTSAND, UNDERTSAND, UNDERTSAND ,UNDERTSAND, UNDERTSAND, UNDERTSAND THE CONCEPT OF LOVE UNG!
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireMy hope is that they never try to make JSRF darker and edgier and thay they keep the soundtrack remains as solid as always
Hello again tropersOh snap! Nostalgia!
I remember the original Japanese version of JSR on the Dreamcast. The game's cel shaded graphics and unconventional use of electronic music was nothing I've seen before, but I found some of the tutorial levels fairly buggy; one of them is supposed to have you grinding on two sets of electrical wires, but the demonstrator fell off halfway through, leaving me stumped for days. The US release is much stable, but I also noticed subtle differences (aside the voice acting and addition of two NYC levels), like Cube's outfit.
Funny thing, I've never really gotten into JSRF as much as its predecessor, mostly because nearly nobody here owned an Xbox (or the Gamecube; the PlayStation 2 reigned supreme). This is also the only Xbox game I've ever played.

I remember in the demo for JGR, the characters used their Japanese voices so they soudned way different compared to the final version. Beat would make these weird noises, Gum had a cute giggle as opposed to HEY YOU! and Tab was replaced by Soda/Slate, who sounded like a big burly Russian guy.
In the first game Cube, Mew, Tab and Garam were my favorites. In Future it was Yoyo, Clutch, Cube again and Boogie. I remember Combo being TERRIBLE in the first one and dreading the race with him against Beat. In future he's a lot better though.
Sorry, I prefer Jet Set Radio Future.
Jonah FalconLooks like we have a spiritual successor!
Hmm. This would have been good news eight years ago when this Ollie King hit the arcades...
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireSorry about that, then. I can't seem to find an OST, though, unlike for Jet Set...
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Love Jet Set Radio Future. It is a wonderful game.
