I dont think anyone here is dumb enough to think this kind of thing is a good idea. Frankly, I hope the parents who send their kids off to these places get murdered in their sleep over it.

I want in on this campaign, and put forward my course of action for defeating the straight camps: infiltrate by getting someone to pretend to be a Fundy and call, saying that we three are gay kids. We then somehow sneak in cameras or ways to note what happens. Then, we break out and bust the camp.

You guys are also missing that this has been done before. The guys over on Fornits have been fighting the Troubled Teen Industry for a long time, including things like undercover busts and getting the kids to rat on the camps.

The net result? A couple got shut down, then reopened under "different management" and a different name, and the rest had good enough lawyers to fight it in court.

True about the staff angle Barkey, but then properly paranoid camps might run a background check and see if you fit the profile they want.

You could help Fornits do something about it. Donate or something. Otherwise a random high school kid like you can't do very much Nick.

What about going after the churches that fund these camps?

They'll usually just dissassociate themselves from it.

Makes me glad that for the most part "camps" over here are almost impossible to hide if abuse ishappening and most people tend to go on holidays as a family.

Kinda like how the churches go "Oh, we're not all violent, homophobic lunatics, its just a vocal minority" while theyre busy not doing anything to get said lunatics to stop making everyone hate them?

Though I have got to admit I wouldn't mind someone opening "Camp concentration" and then watch as they realise what they just said .
