Rex: ...Hehe. *looks sheepish, recalling the Hivemind and Teksab* Well, umm... nothing really important happened... *trying to change the subject* R-really, it was more like a vacation than anything. And we got back in time for my birthday, too! Convenient, right?

Kim: ...your birthday is today? Wow...I completely forgot.

Kim: *pokes his forehead* Of course not, dummy. You really think I came all this way just to say "hi"?

Rex: *reddens* W-well, umm...

Aqua: <Hehe, grandpa's getting all red~>

Rascal: *stretches his legs and walks past the two* <I think I hear Blossom downstairs, so I'll give you two some alone time.> *trots out the door with a grin*

Kim: It's your birthday, right? So, it stands to reason that I should do something for you. Of course, I have more presents downstairs, but I wouldn't have minded doing something special.

-Several seconds pass, and for a moment, Rex suspects that she is just teasing him. However, after a second, he does indeed feel a gentle pressure on his cheek.-

-Opening his eyes gingerly as if afraid, Rex carefully looks in front of him...to notice Aqua being held forward by a grinning Kim.-

Aqua: *giggles* <Happy birthday, grandpa!>

Rex: *pouts* Oh, really funn-

Kim: *leans in and presses her lips to his forehead*

-In the living room, the Eevee family is curled up on a mat on the living room floor, enjoying being together for the first time in a long while. Kim is sitting next to them on the couch, her legs folded Indian style. Of course, her shoes have been left at the front door to avoid tracking dirt.-

Kim: Hmm...I wonder what time Ms. Hunter will get back. Maybe Rex and I can take a walk around town until th-

-Suddenly, the sound of stone moving and crashing can be heard upstairs.-

Rex's Voice: AHHH! JEMMA NO! FORGIVE ME!

-More crashing. Suddenly, something falls out of the upstairs window and into one of the bushes in front of the house.-

-The doorbell rings.-

Kim: ... *sighs and shakes her head* Still such a kid.
