Okay, second time's the charm, as they say. Sky hoped that he would be able to tell Dew how he felt without any interruptions this time.

Dew: <So, why did you want to bring me back here again, Sky? Not that it isn't nice out here...>

That was true. Lake Crystal, a body of water right next door to Bluescale, had water so clear that you could easily see the lakebed on clear days. It was spoken in legend that the legendary Pokémon Suicune had purified the water to be eternally clear, but nobody was sure if that was actually true or not.

Sky: <Oh, I just wanted to take you someplace quiet so we could, y'know, talk.>

Dew: <...You never want to talk.>

The Croconaw gives him a grave look.

<What's the matter?>

Sky: <Nothing! Nothing at all, I swear! It's just...>

Sky suddenly felt very flustered. Come on, he could do it! He know he could! All he had to tell her was how he was the luckiest Shelgon in the world to have a Croconaw like Dew as his friend, and how he didn't want to spend his time with any other Pokémon but her.

All he had to do was say that he loved her. He loved her more than Yachie Berries, he loved her more than Spikes, his Salamence plushie that he had since he was a hatcling. Heck, he was sure that he would love her more than flying.

Dew: <It's just what?>

That was all he had to say...

Sky: <Um...I just...wanted to say that...>

...And yet, he couldn't.

<...Nothing, I just...I just wanted to have some time along with you, that's all. Especially after yesterday.>

Dew: <Oh...yeah.>

Dew rubs her neck awkwardly.

<It was pretty hectic, wasn't it? All those strange Pokémon popping out of nowhere.>

Sky nods, breathing a sigh of relief.

Sky: <At least we don't have to worry about that today. I hope.>

-Every slithers over to Mezzo but doesn't wake her up, deciding to just curl up nearby-

Rim: Hmmmm I think this one. Seems easy. All we gotta do is drag psyduck back here.

Random Luvdisc: *jumps out of the lake, nips Sky, and falls back into the water.* <Teehee!>

-Team Nova is currently gathering Berries for noms, which is kind of hard since Berries generally don't grow in swamps-

Sky blinks, having barely felt the Luvdisc nip him through his thick shell.

Sky: <...What just happened?>

Dew: <I dunno...>

The Croconaw licks her lips hungrily.

<...But I'm in the mood for some Luvdisc all of a sudden.>

Luvdisc: <Oh crap...> *Swims away*

We could do a mission together.

Ana: And get more Poke, to fund more science experiments.
