Cuseinga: <I'm goofy and impulsive, not a dick.>

Pleth: <Fair enough.>

???: <Help...please.>

-the group notices a Ledian, hunched over and injured. They rush over-

Pleth: <What happened?>

Ledian: <A Heracross...it just got my family. I only just escaped.>

Leinad: <What?! Where did it go?!>

Ledian: <I can't...I can't speak so loudly...please, get closer...>

-at which point it's struck by a Gust from Xam, and scattered to the winds. What is now rather obviously a pile of nanobots slithers away again-

Xam: <I'm not surprised by the Treecko, but really, Leinad? You just ran over?>

Pleth: <Wha-wha— how did you know?>

Xam: <You learn these kinds of things, growing up in these forests. My mother was a doctor. She was taken by a pile of nanobots posing as a sick Furret. They...they...>

-she breaks off. Leinad pats her awkwardly-

Pleth: <Wow...>

Cuseinga: <Well, we're going to put an end to that.>

-the four continue through the forest, which is growing increasingly thick-

???: <Don't worry, I most definitely heard you.>

Xam: <Arceus dammit.>

-the four shuffle out into a clearing, where a Venomoth awaits, holding a remote in his legs-

Leinad: <Hey, Nohtanoj. Enjoying your daily oppression of everyone?>

Nohtanoj: -shrug- <I just like to be left alone. Is that so bad?>

Xam: <You've killed so many...well, we won't let you get away with it! We've found heroes who will help us stop her.>

-Nohtanoj chuckles slightly- <You're welcome to try. Do you know why I drive peoplemons away from here?>

-he hefts the remote-

Nohtanoj: <People stop questioning why the forest doesn't make any noise.>

Xam: <...Uh-oh.>

-Nohtanoj taps a button, and the trees attack-

Alrey is calmly lying down on her bed, by the face, with a rather empty look on her face, if one were to inspect very close.

Eridanus: Are oyu all right? You seem zoned out.

Alrey: I... have weird feeling. I didn't really know these two, but still...

Eridanus: Guess that's what you call empathy. And I still can't figure out why I feel like this name's familiar to me... [beat, tries to change subject] Ummm... So... Were you doing anything interesting lately?

She raises a head, having a thinking expression.

Alrey: Well, I... Lane kinda trained me. Since you were a little busy, and Maria has her own training... I...

She picks the Goomy and puts him on her head.

Alrey: I asked him to train my team.

Eridanus: Oh. Makes sense, I guess.

Alrey: About Maria... How you and her are doing?

Eridanus: Oh, Maria? I, well... I helped her with the Gym... You know, lent a helping hand, since apparently she hadn't done it before.

Leinad: -dodging a nanobot claw- <Guys, we're losing!>

Xam: -flitting out of range of a massive fist- <We're well aware, Leinad! It's not like there's some impartial observer who can only perceive what they're told by us!>

Leinad: <There's no call to be so rude about it!>

Pleth: <We need to get that remote!>

Nohtanoj: <There's no use struggling. You'll just die tired.>

Cuseinga: <I'm NEVER tired!>

-Cuseinga dives for Nohtanoj, but a mouth appears out of the swirling storm of nanobots and swallows him-

Pleth: <CUSEINGA!>

Xam and Leinad: <LIZARD DUDE!>

Nohtanoj: <Well, I think that puts an end to your entire plan of fighting back. Are we done here?>

-at which point Cuseinga bursts from the swarm behind Nohtanoj, tackling him and sending the remote clattering away-

-the nanobot swarm instantly collapses into a highly condensed cube, Pleth, Leinad, and Xam diving aside to avoid being crushed-

Cuseinga: <It's over!>

Nohtanoj: <Seems so.>

-at which point Xam breaks away and charges Nohtanoj, tackling him to the ground-

Xam: (shrieking) <You're going to pay! For everything you did to me! And to Leinad!>

Nohtanoj: <Wha—?>

Pleth: <Wait!>

Cuseinga: <Hey! Calm down! I know he's done some bad things, but—>

Xam: <No! This has to be settled!>

Xam: <But now he's out of the way, and the stick is ours!>

Leinad: <Old Nohtanoj never wanted to rule the forest.>

Xam: <Oh, but we do. And we will, now.>

Cuseinga: <We won't let you get away with this!>

Pleth: <Um, Cuseinga?>

Absentminded poking at the still frozen Raticate, Unite tilted his head quizzically at Lake.

Unite: <Hold the phone! If you were friends when you were kids, then how come you never mentioned this to anyone?>

The great bird Ho-Oh cried loudly as it flapped his wings, slowly descending to the roof as Luke and Lake gazed up at him in awe.

At this point, however, Luke didn't understand monese, so he just nodded sagely.

Laying on his side after a presumably hard day trying not to die, Lake gazed up the skies and sighed wistfully.

Lake: <I hope Izzy's okay. Wherever she is.>

Perched on a tree nearby, an annoyed Unite glared down at him.

Unite: <Ssh! I need my beauty sleep so I can avoid getting horribly killed tomorrow!>

From a hole in the roof, Lake and Stratus gazed down into the superstructure below, surveying all of the amazing places the inhabitants had built out of the ruins.

The human, Dragon and Eagle just stared blankly at the Crocodile.

Luke: "No offence, but...it kinda' feels like you're trying to make us remember somebody brand new here."

Pleth: <I'm thinking we let this play out.>

Xam: <...You have a point. I'm sorry, Leinad.>

-she smiles-

Xam: <Still, can I have it first? I think I can figure it out, and then we can share.>

Leinad: <...> -smiles himself. It's a little grotesque, being as Beedrill don't have mouths- <Say something nice.>

Xam: <Huh?>

Leinad: <You've really hurt my feelings, you know? Tell me something nice, and we can share.>

Xam: <You have one of the shiniest carapaces I've ever seen, Leinad. It's really glorious.>

Pleth: <I can't believe I'm going to die listening to these two have makeup— >

Cuseinga: <Ssh! It's cute!>

-Pleth twitches-

Leinad: <Well, thank you for that, Xam. And you're right, you know. There's no way I'd understand this on my own.>

Xam: -relaxes- <See? I knew you'd—>

-he presses a button on the remote, the cube shifts, and everyone present finds out just how many nanobots fit inside a Butterfree-
