Herbert: He is pretty tough, yeah. But then he is my most experienced Pokemon, second only to Kirk.

-Herbert looks at Zach as he comes out.-

Herbert: Oh hey, Z. Just got back from challenging the gym, I assume. Well, I guess there's no point in me waiting any longer. Wrex, come on, we're going to challenge the gym!

-He recalls Wrex and strides into the gym, waving at Diane briefly before stepping up to Skyla.-

Herbert: Skyla, is it? I must say, I'm liking the outfit. Helps that you've got the body to go with it, as well. Care to take on a challenger?

What Eskay said. Sorry about that.

Mistralton

Zach: -as Herbert walks away- Didn't challenge it yet. Just thought the breeze would be refreshing...

Mistralton

Carol: -goes a bit red- Pfft, y-you'd have to have pretty l-low standards to think an outfit as...as...outdated as that looks good! Pants and a T-shirt are snazzy! Hehe! -sweatdrop-

Diane: (to everyone) Nice to see you guys this morning.

Skyla: (to Herb) Thanks~! Let's get this started!

-Shale takes one of the Rich Poffins and eats it-

Mistralton, when Wrex was recalled

Shale: <Awwbye...>

Shakedrake Temple

-After a bit of searching, Maggie has found the way to the general direction of the Inner Sanctum-

Maggie: "Alright, I think I've found it, now just need to watch out for any-"

-A spiked ball on a pendulum swings down in front of her, missing her by a few inches-

Maggie: "...booby traps..."

-She looks down the path and notices that there are other swinging spiked balls as well-

Maggie: "Well, let's see if video games help me with my timing on this..."

-As soon as the first spiked ball makes its pass, she dashes across, missing it on its return path by a few seconds-

Maggie: "Well, I made it past that one, just a bunch more to go..."

-She then works on making her way past the other balls-

Mistralton Gym

Herbert: Hey, Diane.

-Herbert looks over at Carol and goes very red, but focuses on Skyla.-

Herbert: Um, that's not to say that a T-shirt and pants doesn't look good, of course... anyway, Maul, you're up first! Go and zap to the extreme!

-Herbert sends out Maul, who examines his surroundings before giving his fork a twirl.-

Maul: <...>

Herbert: Maul, chain Calm Mind with Shadow Ball!

-Maul nods, and sits in silence for a moment to gather energy and enhance his attack before firing off a ball of dark energy at the Swoobat.-

Swoobat: <Eep!>

Skyla: Acrobatics!

Swoobat: <Whoopwhoopwhoop~>

-Swoobat does several loop-de-loops and slams into Maul-

-Every is watching the battle-

Okay, Nitro will definitely be useful here...

Route 7

-Is busy training-

Mistralton Gym

-Maul is slammed by the Acrobatics and knocked down to about 2/3 health by the attack, sliding backwards slightly.-

Herbert: Alright, Maul, Double Team this time! Chain it with Charge Beam!

-Maul nods, then creates several copies of himself surrounding the Swoobat, before the real thing fires a beam of electricity at it.-

Mistralton Gym

Carol: -watches the battle back and forth like a tennis match- Go Herby!!

Mistralton

That zebra looking thing? Oh cool, maybe I can use one as a mount! Thanks for the tip, I'll head off right now!" Nayhan said, leaving for the wilderness.

In the outskirts of the city laid a lush forest with birds and bugs noticeably present, but no Zebstrika.

Nathan: <Keep an eye out, Sophia.>

Faint buzzing sound in the distance pricked Sophia's hearing.

Sophia: <Do you hear buzzing?>

Nathan: <No, I->

The buzzing intensified until a waft of air blew past the two, the cause stoppingto flotate in front of them: a red and green dragonfly. It looked mean and eager to fight.

Nathan: Oh damn, that thing is huge for a bug! Sophia, Confusion!

Sophia charged up a round of psychic energy and chucked it at the bug, successfully hitting it and knocking it's balance off, but it's control of it's wings stabilized it in a moment, a new, madder glint in it's eyes.

The bug charged at Sophia and sent a Bug Buzz her way, disorienting her with the annoying high pitched sound and letting the bug ram her few feet back.

Sophia: <Oh, that thing's gonna pay!>

Sophia then braced herself for the second charge of the Pokemon, an arrogant glare on it.

Nathan: "What are you doing? Get out of the way!"

Sophia didn't listen, she had another plan. She waited until the bug flew close enough, and focused all her leftover energy and struck the dragonfly straight in the face, severely disorienting it, it's flying halting as it struggled to regain it's senses. Sophia took this opportunity to quickly hop onto it's back. The pokemon didn't take this well and started flapping it's body wings, but Sophia's got a firm grip on it.

Nathan: "What are you doing?"

Sophia: <Quick, throw a ball!>

Nathan: What? Why?

Sophia: <You needed a Pokemon? Capture this thing, quickly!> She said as she was flailed around on the pokemon's back.

Nathan hastily pulled outt a Poke ball and threw if at the bug. The ball successfully collided with it and sucked it in, dropping Sophia on the ground to stare at the ball's shaking.

Nathan: "Why is the ball shaking so much?"

The ball violently shook around for several seconds before a click sounded, marking the capture of the pokemon.

Nathan: "Did... did I capture it?"

Sophia: <I think so...> She said before exhaustion fainted her. Nathan recalled her and headed back to Mistralton.

He noticed the same crew as earlier and paid a visit.

Nathan: "You didn't warn me of the giant dragonflies, Nico."

-Swoobat is taken out by the Charge Beam-

Skyla: Wow! Not bad! But you haven't shot us down yet!

Skyla: X-Scissor!

Mistralton Gym

-The X-Scissor slashes into one of Maul's duplicates, causing the rest of them to disappear as well, but Herbert looks unfazed.-

Herbert: A Skarmory, huh? Well, I apologise to Skye for any sympathy pains that she might feel. Maul, Calm Mind again, then Charge Beam!

-Maul nods his assent, before taking another pause to gather his strength and firing another, stronger beam of electric current at the Skarmory.-

Skarmory: -is hit hard, but is more focused on what Herbert said- <Ooh, you know a Skarmory named Skye~? I wonder if she's single~>

-Skye twitches.-

Skyla: Keep trying!

Mistralton Gym

-Maul is hit by the X-Scissor this time, and knocked down to his last fraction of health.-

Herbert: Skye's taken, I'm afraid. Not that I'm overly happy about it.

-He pauses as he realises all the possible ways his statement could be misinterpreted.-

Herbert: No, I don't mean that in that way, you... ugh, Maul, finish this bloody bird off, would you?

-Maul nods, before deciding that third time is indeed the charm and blasting the Skarmory with another Charge Beam.-

Carol: -thankfully for Herbert, she doesn't here his comment- Dang, I was right about Maul. He's gonna do that Skarmory in!

Mistralton

Diane: Remind me to slap him again for that.

Skye: I'll slap whatever side of his face you don't slap.

-While Herbert was talking more than he should have been, Skarmory had time to get out of the way of the third Charge Beam-

Skarmory: <Darn, I bet she's cute, too...>

Skyla: Once more with feeling!

Mistralton Gym

-Maul is unable to withstand the third attack, faints, and is recalled by Herbert.-

Herbert: Arceus, I need to stop talking... I should only need one more Pokemon to finish this battle off, though. Kirk, you're up!

-Herbert sends out Kirk, who gives the Skarmory a lazy look.-

Kirk: <Cleaning up after Maul, am I? I suppose I can manage that.>

-Without even waiting for Herbert's input, he sends a sphere of glowing orange Aura flying at the Skarmory.-

Mistralton Gym

Jacob: -Walks in and see's Herbert's battle- "Huh. He's not too bad. I've got next, unless someone already called that." -Chuckles a little-

Mistralton

-Skarmory is knocked out by the Aura Sphere-

Skyla: Ow... well, Sigilyph, looks like your time to fly!

-Without waiting for an order, Sigilyph uses Psychic on Kirk-

Skyla: -to Jacob- Sorry, but we've got something planned for after this battle!

-She looks at Diane and winks. Skye stares blankly-

Skye: ...Am I missing something?

Diane: Don't worry, you're coming along~

Carol: Aww man, was looking forward to Maul mauling everything...ah well, Kirk's cool too!

-Is currently practicing my balance on one of the raised platforms-

Rotor: -Defeats a Zebstrika- <That's the last one. I feel kinda tingly...>

-Starts glowing-

Jacob: "Huh? What's going on after this battle?"

Skyla: That's between me and Diane~

Diane: And Skye will find out soon enough~

Skye: I have a feeling they're planning something dangerous...
